This 51 second video shows me messing around with my V'GER Combi.

V'GER on YouTube

It's a good example of stacking up FM programs, so they sound "big." Just like with the old TX816. The TX had 8 MIDI cables chained to each TF-1 module (plus a 9th cable to plug in!), so the timing was a bit sloppy - in a good way. With a Combi you can put the same sound in several slots and delay each, by a couple of milliseconds. Add some Detune and you can mimick TX sounds.

Billy, only the bottom keys are FM. The center are the Pizzicato and Slow Stereo Strings programs. The top is the General MIDI French Horn, layered with Slow Stereo Brass.

I didn't want to rip off Jerry Goldsmith, but I can actually play a good impression of that opening Klingon/V'GER battle, from the first STAR TREK movie. Very Happy
