Beat me to it, Sparkie. These 6 videos with Richard Formidoni demonstrating really open up the M3 further.
Cheers,
Eric

I watched all of them and found out a few things I wasn't aware of. Richard does a really nice job. Would have been great to be there in person.

On the 3rd demo about half way through, Rich talks about saving a wave file to the USB stick by pressing the record and start/stop buttons and playing back the sequence. He then pulls out his USB stick from the back and says it is auto saved or shows you can save it to the disc using USB.. I dont understand, as when I do it I dont have a file name to save there and nothing gets saved on my USB drive. Does it have to be a USB stick? I cant seem to find the wav to save it? The tracks seem to be empty or something but the sequence does play back OK and was saved in memory. Has anyone else tried this?

Hi all, thanks very much for the comments! I gotta fix my posture in these clinics... I might as well be calling for sanctuary in the bell tower.

Sparkie, I was talking about using the "2ch mix to media" functionality in the sampler.

Here's how you use that little shortcut:

1. Make sure your USB drive is recognized by the M3. Go to Media mode, touch the Media Info tab, then select "Scan USB Device" from the drop-down menu in the upper-right.

2. When you're done making the song in SEQ mode, touch the "Sampling AudioIn" tab, and from the drop-down menu, select "Auto Sampling Setup" (you'll have to scroll to the right).

3. On the screen that comes up, select "2ch Mix to Media." This option will be grayed out if the M3 doesn't see your storage device. Note that this is also the screen where you can select "In-Track Sampling," where the M3 can record audio into the sequencer!

4. Press the SAMPLING REC button (not the sequencer REC/WRITE button). It should blink for a second or two. When it stops, press the SAMPLING START/STOP button right next to it.

5. Play the song back using the sequencer START/STOP button, and let it play all the way through. When it's finished, press the sequencer START/STOP button again, and it will automatically stop the sampler along with it.

6. Go to Media mode, and check out your USB drive... there should be a stereo WAV file there, beginning with the word TAKE.

If you skip steps 2 and 3, the audio gets saved to RAM, not to the USB media. I hope this fixes your problem!

I gotta remember to tell my mom she can find me on YouTube now... I know for a FACT I'll hear about my posture from her...

Rich,
..Thanks for the additional notes on using that shortcut.. I will give it a try ASAP and let you know. Glad to see instructional videos for the M3 as they make learning the M3 so much easier!!
I wish I could have made it to your M3 presentation in Louisville..dang...but my wife had American Idol tickets at the state fair that same day....

Great..got it to work..Although now my bus inputs are being turned off..after I have them set at L/R. I also tried writing the global setting but after I saved the wav file the BUs Selects were back to the setting of "Off".

How can I also include and wav record my rack synth along with the M3 in the sequence?? The buses are being turned off and only the M3 is being recorded.

Good work, Jon Lord! I also like pad F043- Everest. It is beautiful. Epic scene F001 is not bad.

Nevertheless, I think EXB-Radias does not have good lead sound (just "duck quack"). Too few presets, absence of Radias Combi.
