I recently heard on another site that Korg has released a PA2XPro. Is this true, and if so, do the sounds differ any from the PA800? Does it have Karma? What are it's features compared to the PA800? I've been using Yamaha gear for years, and I'm fairly new to Korg keyboards, so please forgive my ignorance.

No, the styles are not the same, the styles are rebuilt with Guitar Mode
and also the sounds are not the same, the ROM is different too, many
thing are added and new on the PA2XPRO and also the style structure on
the PA2XPRO is improved and has new things to it, there is many differences,
not just the hardware.

Hi Nedim,

I spent some effort in trying to get to the ROM capacity of PA2
and PA800.

What I want to know, is there a difference in MB?

My appropriate thread was left without answer.

Are you disposing over facts?

Regards

Choros

In my own opinion right now the world of arrangers is killed by the E-80 not
Tyros 2. But thats PROFESIONALLY speaking, what i mean is speaking from
a view of what the synth is made for. Maybe i was lucky enough to own many
synths but that doesnt make my statements incorrect. And my statements
most of the times colide with other, or with most in here, why?:
Cuz to me an ARRANGER is just an ARRANGER and thats what E-80 is,
for SOLO, for SAMPLING, for SEQUENCING i have separate machines that are
meant to do that. Each mashine is made for SOMETHING not EVERYTHING but
most of the people think their mashines are for EVERYTHING and my statements
colide with theirs then.
An ARRANGER to me is a mashine that gives SOLID DRUM and BASS tracks,
SOLID GUITAR MODE only in STYLE MODE and easy and fast EDIT of that.
And right now the E-80 is the only synth that gives that. I know already
most of you disagree but you dont have to attack me, i already see it so
no need to waste letters on the comp.
KORG PA1XPRO/800/2XPRO/1X/80/50/60 have many things:
Vocal Harmonizer...nowhere near that name.
Style Editor...nowhere near the name of it, it doesnt even have PATTERN.
Drums are just OK, not too bad but not great either.
FX are nowhere near FX...REVERB? You turn the synt on and it sounds like
you are playing in some AMPHITHEATER...and so on, enough.
On to of that have SAMPLERS like the PA80 which cant even do SAMPLING.
16 OSC for SOLO on the PA1X but 64 notes???
Dont let me go on please.
Can you fit 2 pounds of APPLES into 1 pound BAG? Dont think so!!!
And thats what those arrangers are. Roland never ID that, ROLAND
always had their own IDEOLOGY that an ARRANGER is just an ARRANGER,
thats why there is MOTIF, TRITON, FANTOM, KURZWEIL and else...
Now the AUDYA is another story and yes, it is coming to my house, after
15 years of KORG ARRANGERS in my house since I3. And that was it,
I3 and I30 ten it went downwards...WHY? I dont know!
I am also not a TURN AND PLAY guy, i like to BREAK the machine in and
out and explore to the last function, when i say to the LAST i LITERARY
mean to the LAST and thats why i have this OPINION. When i touch a synth
and it says on it ARRANGER thats what i expect to get from it, i dont expect
a SSL CHANNEL STRIP or some APPOGEE converter inside it, like most of
the poeople ask for today in an Arranger:
Master Comp, Side Chaining, Multiband, Big Sampling, Internet (T2) which
is nice you can browse the FORUMS while playing or just simply watch PORN!
And when you calculate all that you dont get an ARRANGER, all you get is
just NOTHING! A big MESS and you dont know where to start from.

All i said is just my own opinion, way of thinking and way of working.
I hope you understand.

But between the Korg PA1X/PA1XPRO Elite, PA2XPRO, PA800, PA500 (which seems to be replacing the PA50) , i30, the Roland EM-2000, G-1000, G800, G-70, E-80, E-60, VA76, and the Ketron X1, AUDYA, SD1/SD1-PLUS, Sd5, I can't seem to pick which one to get first! I want them ALL, but man, there's SOOOO many! Laughing I'll figure it out, but these are the BEST Arranger boards I could EVER ask for! Very Happy

I'll help you with the ALL TIMERS which are not replaced yet:

I30, G-1000, E-80, X1 and (AUDYA)!

Sina, right now for the MONEY/VALUE i'd go for the PSR S900, it is YAMAHAs
Flagship after T2, beats the hell out of PSR9000/PRO.
As for the other Tehnics...thats something that you can never compare
KORG to it...unfortunately they dont exist no more.
