Is it possible to have a SongBook (like on PA1X) with some upgrade on my M3? Thanx, Robi. |

You can use the 200 song locations in the Sequencer to do the same thing.
Regards.

Yes, but you can not easily recall them to play (with song number input and pressing play - like songbook). And after turnoff they are lost, so you have reload them. But thanx. |

Hello.

You can actually. You can jump to any song by entering the number into the keypad and pressing enter.
You can do this in SEQ mode, or COMBI mode.
Does that suite you ?. Could be close to what your looking for.

True, but it only takes a few seconds to load the file. If that's a problem, you can look at using the COMBI mode for the same feature. This way you won't have to load any files.

I assume your referring to irishacts.com.
Thank you.
Just so you know, irishacts.com is KORG Forums. Same owners, same server, same everything. Irishacts.com is where KORG Forums was born.
Regards.

Hi Sharp, I don't understand the COMBI mode for the songs.. in what sense you use combis to switch songs?
thanks

Hi Andrew.
The song book feature Robert is looking for is not a place where you actually store songs. It's a place where you store the settings for songs. Like track 1 Piano, Track 2 Strings..... and so on....
The COMBI mode has 16 tracks just like the Sequencer mode has. Only difference is, anything you store in a COMBI stays in memory after you turn off the power, unlike the Sequencer.
So, you can use the COMBI mode to store setups just like a Song Book mode of an arranger keyboard.
Regards.

So basically you copy whole combi to sequencer and play?
Did I get it right?
Never thought of this, though...
Wouldn't there be some more loading .sng data, for recorded drum tracks, patterns etc.?
One would still have to load .sng data to have all patterns assigned to proper meassures etc., combi can't save such data. |

Hi Sharp & everyone. Thanx for your info. Very good idea, but when I tried the new PA2X, I realised that that is what I want. It is almost the same as PA1X, but it was love at first sight. Moving display is the last thing that I need, but the elegance of this Korg is unbelievable. So, I lose some money with "say goodbye" to great M3, but love is love. |
