Hello everyone. I just bought the Korg Micro X, and Im having the following problems:

1.) The Joystick works up and down for modulation, but not for pitch (left and Right. How can I solve this problem?

2.) I want to use the micro x as a midi controller for my daw. I wanted to know would a usb midi cable by maudio work for me so I wont have much latency than my onboard soundcard?

3.) Is there a way to adjust the master the volume somewhere? I only can mess with the volume knob, and mix knob on the screen.

It depends on your patch you are selected, some of them joystick works only modulation. You can edit your patch (read manual)

Yes, you can.

The big knob on top left is your MASTER VOLUME, other knobs you can set as tracks/channels volume (depends on your setup)

The same problem with the joystick occured to my MicroX as well. Up and down works but left/right (ie pitch bending) is no longer functioning.

It's not that a patch is not utilizing pitch bending as it doesn't work on any patch, even the leads. Also, left/right movement won't send midi data either. Any suggestions?

well this time I would have to say that the stick is broken. Send it back if you have warranty if not, you can open it and see if there is anything obious.

I fixed it. Since it was out of warranty and thanks to the photos posted by mtps, I decided to open it and have a look inside.

There are a lot of screws to unscrew and almost 20 minutes later I discovered a cut wire on the joystick. There are 3 wires that go the mainboard and move along with the joystick when it's moved on the Y-axis. Apparently the wire was traped at some edge and was cut during Y-axis movement. It was easy to solder onto its place.

The whole procedure took me about an hour (mostly unscrewing and screwing) and saved me the trip to the service center and the cost.

However, since the wires move along with the joystik they are prone to be cut again some time in the future. Nice as the joystick is, the stationary design of the wheels is safer.

Anyway, it's fixed!!!

Nice job!

By the way, I thought I would mention that Korg will extend the warrantee by one year for free, if registered within 90 days of the purchase date. I know it doesn't apply to you since it was already out of warrantee, but others might benefit from doing so.

Alchmst409, you do not need any extra cables to use your microX as a MIDI controller. Just install the KORG MIDI drivers and connect your microX using a USB cable.

i have the same problem.

thought it would be something simple like that.

but mine's still under warrentee, so i dont want to open it.

the guy at the shop wasn't sure how long it would be away for if i brought it in to be fixed
so after talking with him i decided to hold off a few weeks till i get these gigs out of the way.

seems like a common fault?
