Thanks Peter

I would be very happy to share experiences

Hi Jamie,

great !!! Thanks in advance. At the moment I am more a reader then poster but I would like to join, contribute and learn from that. Looking forward to a possible thread.

Kevin Nolan wrote:

I genuinely was thinking of Jamie's interest here as I felt it might be unfair to ask publicly about hard-earned knowledge and experience.

You're right and therefore I appreciate Jamie's offer even more.

But on the other hand it is not so much surprissing as we all know this place is one of not so many in the virtual world where people share their knowlegde, ideas....

Kevin Nolan wrote:

For the record, I'm definitely not hogger of knowledge, intellectual property or anything like that. I'm a big fan of concepts like GNU, Open Source and sharing (as was evident with me offering my OASYS sounds for free - as I will always do).

This is not only true but also a perfect timepoint which brought me to an idea. I will follow your idea and make my OASYS sounds available as well. .. kind of one year's anniversary present ..

Kevin Nolan wrote:

Actually I 'learnt' to have this out look from my first boss. In Ireland in the 90s there were few jobs but I bluffed my way into a sys admin job. But my boss was wise to me very quickly. So what did he do - he made every set of documentation, all of his experience and every paid-for course possible available to me to get me up to scratch. No question was too dumb and he was precious about nothing. It was a revelation to me and literally shaped my whole attitude to such things. Though I've long since moved on from that company, that man is now a close friend and I genuinely think he was onto a fantastic outlook on life.

!!!

These days this kind of bosses are getting rare and rare. And this is a very nice story thanks for sharing.

Hi Peter -

I for one would love to check out your sounds. The half dozen or so of sound sets available to date are each unique and show how versatile OASYS is. It's always great to add sounds to you arsenal you would never have through of, it really spices things up.

And Jamie - congratulations on your album by the way. I followed your references and it's certainly gaining exposure. Good luck the radio play - a very impressive list.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Jamie,

thanks a lot !

Then you will maybe like this, too:

I forgot to mention that in the text. But usually I like to create the sounds in a way so that I can breath in some life by using the ribbon controller and / or VJS.

Jamie -

Two things:

Firstly - phew - that Jazz USA review is incredible - congratulations.

Secondly - would yo ube prepred to divulge, and if so how, if you sell tracks/cd's on line via:

- myspace
- soundclick
- your own web site.

In particualr are myspace and soundclick mostly to social network, or do they lead to selling. And - if you sell from your own web site, how did you manage that and what software do you use?

In general any general pointers to selling on line you might be able ot divulge would be appreciated.

Thank, and once again congratulations on the success of your album - that JazzUAS review is absolutely stunning.

Cheers,
Kevin.
