Hi Simus! Welcome to the forums, and Merry Christmas if you celebrate it. Smile

Best thing to do is to download Kevin Goodman's excellent "Trinitro" software. It's completely freeware now:- http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=18508

Trinitro is both a librarian AND a sound/patch-editor. The librarian part of things allows you to import/export PCG files to the TR-Rack, so you'll never need a physical disk-drive or anything, it's transmitted/received all over MIDI. The same with the sound editor, you can create and edit patches graphically on-screen using your mouse so you wont likely need to use the front panel of the TR-Rack much. A god-send, really! Not sure why Korg didn't make something like this at the time.

Although you wont be able to load any Moss/Solo patches (the TR-Rack doesn't support that expansion) or PCM sets (the TR-Rack doesn't contain a user-based sampler), you do have an extra 8MB of PCM waveforms over the standard Trinity keyboard. These incorporate various "best of" samples from a few of Korg's additional, commercial PCM sets.

JKR01W (John) from the forums here worked out which extra waveforms the TR-Rack gives over and above the standard Trinity keyboard:-

"Trinity Keyboard has 374 Multisamples and 258 Drum samples.

The Trinity TR-Rack Module has 414 Multisamples and 458 Drum Samples.
There are 39 more Multisamples and 200 more Drum samples in the Trinity Rack.

The TR-Rack has the exact same ROM and effects capabilities as the keyboard version plus 8 megabytes of additional sounds from the best of the PBS-Tri libraries that Korg released. It's like you get a PBS-Tri built in with the best sounds Korg released for it and double the storage. Nice to have those sounds built into the ROM.

The TR-Rack also has double the storage of the keyboard version (4x banks of 128 Combis and 4x banks of 128 Programs). The TR-Rack samples are the same multisamples as the standard Trinity from 000 through to 374, and drum samples from 000 to 258. Hence, why they called it expanded access module.

I have checked and the ROM samples for the TR-Rack and the Trinity are the same until the new numbers start. The new multisamples therefore start at 375 and 259 respectively.

There are 39 more Multi-samples and 200 more Drum samples on the TR-Rack's additional 8MB than on the standard Trinity.
