I'm loving my M3 for a lot of reasons. But I am dissapointed by the noise immiting from the machine. Mine sounds like a high pitched chirping or like computer hash from a bad (cheap) sound card. It is very obvious when recording soft passages of music. I searched the forums for m3 noise but found no discussion about this. Am i the only one with a noisy M3?
Thanks,

M3 l/r into Onyx 1640. Sub outs to MOTU 1224 interface. It's the M3 producing the noise. Maybe something is wrong with this unit.

The noise is related to the USB connection. It is very common among keyboards with USB. Try using MIDI only and see if that doesn't clear it up.

Thanks for the response Busch. I'll try this tomorrow. Looking forward to the firewire interface....that will be awesome.

Why don't you record and post an audio file so we can check that noise? |

the source of the noise might be other electronic devices- your wireless Airport, monitor, PC, TV , cable box etc
The M3 might be picking up the noise from them _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Burningbusch had it right! Indeed the USB cable was inducing horrible amounts of hash. I unplug the USB cable and the keyboard is silent.....well almost:)
Thanks guys for your help!
