I currently have a Yamaha PSR 1500 and Korg Triton LE. What i'm trying to do is to send MIDI drum track (Ch10) from the PSR to the Triton so that it will use the sampled drum sounds which i have on my Korg.
I have done this in Combi mode by setting one of the timbres to use the sampled drum with midi messages from Ch10. in additional timbres i have different sounds which i want to play simultaneously. This works great if i dont thouch anything. But when i want to switch to a different COMBI Patch there is a slight delay (milliseconds) and the drum seems to skip. must be due to the MIDI messages being cut off when i switch the patch.
Does anyone have any experience with this and a way to get around the delay when switching patches? Because the drums sound great and i want to be able to use them simultaneously with another patch. Thanks! |

I am kinda new to the korg series as well so this is just an educated guess.
Maybe you could write the same drum track on the triton so that you aren't using the Yamaha at all. In other words, have the triton both play back and remember the drum track, and at that point, I believe using the sequencer you can do whatever else you wish. |

Save the drum track to a MIDI file and load in the Triton's sequencer.
That's what I would do... _________________ Korg TR 88 |

I know I can save the midi to the Triton. However, I want to be able to use the drums in live situations where i'm playing with styles. this would require drum midi data to come from my Yamaha PSR. Like i mentioned earlier i have everything set up and it works great EXCEPT when i switch the combi patch there is a slight jerk in the drum sounds. Any other suggestions??? thanks |
