hey i just joined and i love the micro x and i kinda need more keys to get
it to where i need it to be. I trying to figure out how to use a full keyboard and play the sounds in the micro x and have it connected to a Mv 8000 as the sequencer.
i got an idea and cant get nowhere until i figure this out 
any help would be great thanks!

| Take it back and exchange it for an X-50, if you can, to get basically the same engine with 61 keys. Otherwise, the MicroX can be controlled by any midi controller or sequencer using USB-midi and/or the midi IN port. |

get a bigger keyboard you enjoy playing, make sure it has a plug on the back saying "MIDI-OUT"
connect a cable from the MIDI-OUT on that keyboard to the MIDI-IN on the micro-x

hi ithink i understand what you are trying to do
you are playing the micro x from a external keyboard but you also want this keyboard to controll the mv 8000
its been some years since i used a atari computer 2 keyboards and a sound module and rember that the midi thru connector was used to do this.
i got the shop where i purchased equipment to draw a midi connection map do you have local dealer who can help
if you do not have midi thru i think it might not be possible |

everything is always possible if you know exactly what you want to do...
it may not be easy tho
if you really need a midi thru, but dont have one
you can buy external midi splitter boxes
or run it through a computer with a multiple i/o midi interface
and use the computer to control what source controls what output.

Not really true - the microX has more percussion samples in it's ROM and the presets are very different, which leads me to believe that the rest of the ROM is, too. I didn't find much I liked about the X-50 out of the box, whereas the microX ships with more useful sounds than any synth I have ever come across. It was actually a huge revelation to me - I didn't think I'd ever hear a ROMpler I would want to buy, but the microX really delivers for us.
As stated above, the simple solution is to buy a MIDI Splitter box of some kind. They cost bugger-all and it will definitely solve your problem.
