Hello all,
I just bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-H7 bridge camera.
My first feeling about this was that pictures appeared to be somehow grainy/noisy. After a few days of use, I noted that the 'auto' mode wasn't the best one to use as it often fixed ISO values to around 1600 which is quite noisy. Then I experienced the 'P' mode with the possibility to adjust the ISO settings a.o. and got far more better results.
Indoor pictures look not very easy to be correct in bad lighting conditions.
What's you advice on the best settings to use ?
Do you have any good tips, advices on how to get correct pictures (indoor and outdoor) with this camera, what are the good and bas practices, etc.
Do you have any books or online resources to recommend ?
Thanks in advance for your kind feedback. _________________ Chris (Belgium) |

Hi Chris.
Generally speaking that camera should be able to take excellent shots under all conditions while simply placed into fully auto mode.
You might just need to check if any weather conditions and light conditions are set. Like, if it's set to florescent, you will get a blue cast.
That said, if your looking for images beyond “Family Shots”, then you would also need to invest in a good image editor. Personally I believe that an image editor is just as important to the shot as the camera itself.
Photo Shop is the standard, but programs like Paint Shop Pro can do almost everything Photo Shop can way for a fraction of the price.
Regards.
