I use my Padkontrol to control VJ software in live performance environments. Unfortunately, it has started to malfunction and become unreliable after just a few months of usage. My current opinion is that this this device is more suitable as a children's toy than as a professional tool.

1. The sensitivity in loud environments results in pads firing in random fashion which is of course unacceptable.

2. Two of the pads on the Padkontrol have stopped releasing correctly, the pad will only work if it is sending both messages in the momentary setup, otherwise it just gets' stuck.

I've been very careful with this device, emailed Korg support and got a set of questions as a response, responded and then heard nothing back.

All I really want to know is: are these fixable problems or do I need another device????

Hello mr. VJ! Wink

It seems that you might want to calibrate your pK as suggested in the Sticky thread on top of this section of the board!

Two of the pads on my Korgcontrol, the 1st and the 12th, do not fire signals consistently, or release signals consistently, rendering this device useless. I've not received replies to my emails to korg support. I would recommend going elsewhere for a controller surface, the Padkontrol is a piece of crap.

I second that.... i got my padkontrol as a gift and after one or two months, pad 13 would get "stuck". Now thats happened a to a couple of other pads. I'm trying to get the store they got it from to replace it. If that doesnt work i'm gonna go with another brand.

Have you a)been smoking in your studio, b)spilling beverages on your pK, c)store your equipment in a dusty area, or d)store your equipment in a hot car for extended periods of time?

I'm just asking if any of these contributing factors in 'faulty' equipment apply, before answering your question. If you've had all or any of those conditions, it will affect the nature of the response to YOUR problem, not mine. I'm sure it can be fixed, but is it worth your time and money, is the real question.
