what you need to know exactly? in M50 you have the same set of drum pattern of the M3 and you can use them either to play along in program and combis or as drum tracks in sequencer. you can create and save your own user drum patterns (and your own drum kits). once you select a drum kit and a drum pattern, what is not possible is: to record drum pattern as multitrack (i.e. for a given pattern you can't split kick on track1, snare on 2 and so on... if you need to record in this way you have to record manually your pattern in sequencer); to equalize each single drum part (kick, snare ....).

No Kimu, i dont think you can do that on M3 or M50. He asked for ARP and
thats something M3 or M50 dont have anymore, it is called KARMA now.
And NO, you cant create your own Custom Patterns on the synth itself, you
have to use KARMA LABS software for creating GEs.

I'm pretty sure he's asking about drum tracks and not the actual arpeggiator. in which case I believe what kimu said was correct.

also, M50 does not have KARMA, it has dual arps like on the Triton series.
Or this is what I am led to believe. I'm not an expert on the M50.

The M50 by itself does not have KARMA technology onboard. However, you can use KARMA M50 (KM50 for short) software (computer program soon to be available from Karma-Lab once the M50 gets its forthcoming OS update) linked to an M50. This will give you the KARMA 2 engine available on the M3 and OASYS. The only drawback is that you must link your M50 to a computer capable of running KM50.

Yes kimu.or who ever it was I was asking about the arp thing about the drums on the M50. All I know it it says it has a drum arpegaitor on the M50 features. This seems like a newer better feature for those people like myslef who would like to go further on using a piano as a percussion instrument!

I have not t so much technical talk but if I imagine it would give your alot of depth in your song.

Also somebody said you can make you own drum beats and save them to use later is this true? That would be a nice for me too have that ablity on a synth like I have in my drum sequenceing software.

Thanks for your reply..keep them coming..

Also I want to know about thee M50, please don't try to sell me the M3!

I'm sold on the 15 lb M50 idea.

Laughing

anyway i would not call it ARP, in M50 you have a real drum patterns that you can compose at you pleasure to create the best fitting drum track for your song (of just press "start drum track" to jam along with drum bases in your favourite program or combi).

to have an idea you can listen here

www.myspace.com/shadesorrow

in the second and in the fifth songs, the drums are made with M3 drum patterns that are the same of M50. (the other drums were made with trinity before i buy the M3)

Wow that was good, really good your myspace songs. You did those songs with a trinity then and M3. I have heard I song Like that Omega song in a long time. G They others are Great songs, the drum tracks are so mellow compare to the melody.

I'm not looking for a PSR function. I don't want some elses drum beat!

Can I make my own drum beats a save them with the M50?

Can I here's a big word for me can the sequencer Quantinize? and Do off tempo beats?

I hope I can do some of that with a the M50.

regarding drums, you can either use preset drum patterns or, when in sequencer mode, create your own drum patterns (of course you can create arp pattern for each kind of instruments).

when you create your own user patterns, they usually remain associated to the song where you create it and saved along with the .SNG file. if you want to have those patterns available also in any other songs you will write or for drum track in combi/program then you just have to "convert" them to "Drum Pattern" and they will be stored in M50 internal memory along with all other presets.

Not true. M50 doesn't have Karma. It has a dual poliphonic arpeggiator like Triton plus a dedicated drum arpegiator, called "drum track".
Drum arpegiator is equal to the one of the M3, and it is separate from the double arpegiator (m50) or Karma (M3).
Drum arpeggio pattern is user editable (and had nothing to do with Karma GE).

M50 can't open anything related to Karma as it does not have Karma itself. (Karma can be "infused" externally with the dedicated Karma software from a PC).
