This is not a problem, I'll see that we post the Programs to korg.com sometime later this week. You'll need only the Programs, as often the Combis are based on what KARMA is doing and won't make as much sense on an M50.

I'll post them in the M50 downloads area to be clear.

OK?

Regards,

Jerry

(I don't speak about combis because M3 combis refers to M3 programs, so they are not usable with M50.)
One will have to select all the sounds that are not present in the M50, a lot of work... Sad

LOL,,, oh, ya, right-on...

More of what I meant was, on the add-on programs {.PCG s} ( (Like the 512), are these ALL new sounds/programs/samples, or just variations of what is stock in the M50& M3?

Thanks again.

The add-on programs are not add-on anymore with M3 V.20. They are the sounds of the M3. M50 has a selection of sounds of the M3 V.2 (with few new/different). If you load the sounds of the M3 not present in the M50 you use the sample of the M50.

Precisation: the EX3 Piano program of the M3 "plays" someway in the M50 because M50 doesn't find the correct sample so by defaults loads the stereo acoustic piano mp instead. And do this for all the absent wind samples used in bank U-E of the M3. So... these programs labeled with Ex1/2/3 are not usable in the M50. This mean some pianos, and whole U-E bank. All the other sounds work fine.

bye
Andrew

a simple question:

the M50 has the same sample of M3 v2 correct?
hence, expect for USB-EXP sounds, i can load M3 program/combi on M50 and they will sound similar (M50 has less IFX for each program).

then M50 can load up to 640 program, 512 combi and 48 drum plus 256 GM2 sounds and 9 GM2 drum kits.

hence i can load 5 M3's full banks (except RADIAS and EXP ones) for program and 4 bank for combi.

but there is a way to import only some sounds from M3 to M50 (e.g the synth lead) w/o substituting the whole bank? with M3 editor is possibile?
or it is possibile to transfer a single program?

You can load individual programs. All you do is preview what's in the main .pcg file and choose which programs you want to load and where to. I just loaded 4 different pianos into bank E 096-099.

Incorrect: M50 and M3 are identical for rompler engine, includine ifx. Not similar, but identical, copy paste, CRTL-C CTRL-V. Wink Ok? Smile

If they are "identical" why is it that many of the combi's don't work ?

Think how it's the keyboard.
Combis are made of programs, the programs included in the presets of the keyboard. Not all of the M3 programs are in the M50, and, moreover, they are in different banks. So M3 combis can't work in the M50, but this is obvious if you know and consider how the Korg engine is.
M3 and M50 rompler engine are identical. Obviously programs and combis are different.

regards
Andrew

Ps. RTFM is the rule Wink

It's a shame they are not directly interchangeable. Still, I guess being able to load the programs is a plus if nothing else Smile

Were these PCGs ever made available? I can't find them on any Korg site.

I can only find them in the M3 update but they appear to be integrated into the update and not available as .pcg files.

I assume the "producer" files are the originals from the M3.

Am I missing something here? Any help would be appreciated.

The Producer file from the M3 downloads page is the one you want. It's inside the M3_V120 download. When you extract it you will find three folders. The M3SYS which I think is the update for the M3 and not applicable for us, the Manuals folder and last the Producer folder.

Inside the Producer folder there should be two .pcg's. One labelled PRODUC88.PCG and the other called PRODUCER.PCG. Just choose the 88 if you have the M50-88 and the other file if your have the M50-61.

Copy the file to your SD card then stick it in the M50 and access it through Media mode. You should then be able to load it without any problems. As I said before though, don't bother with the combi's as they wont work properly.
