I want to change from a PSR-S700 arranger-keyboard to a synth, because I don´t play this kind of style-arranged music no more. I have played a lot of other keyboards, epianos, VK-organ, Clavinova, but no synth. I alsways thought these machines with there little monitors something technical for engineers ..

What I want now is electronical and experimental sonds and music, but nothing with dancefloor and that kind of stuff.
At the moment I have the Tenori-On as a very inspiring and simple to use instrument, which could also be a controller for a synth with 16 parts.
I am no technician and need something, which can be used intuitively and easy.
So the new M50 from Korg seems to me that this could be the right thing. Rolling Eyes
What do other users recommend for a beginner?

BUY A M50! YOu'll thank me for it! The only problem you may have,,,, is it will do EVERYTHING you don't need (listed above), along with everything you want to do...

And if you like learning,,, the M50 has so many extras to learn about if you want to make custom voices...

Would the M3 also be an option for a beginner like me?

Well of Course.

Me, I didn't need all the extras the M3 has.. But the M3 does EVERYTHING the M50 does, and a bunch more, including sampling & Vocating..

So if you need those capabilities, get it.

I just wanted something simple to use with the best sound qualities. And I only had a $1k budget.. The M50 fit the bill PERFECT for me personally..

I'm not even a keyboard player really, and I have already used the M50 twice in live situations, and very successfully at that!

You need to ask yourself what you need, how much $ you want to part with, how often will be me moved, then go from there..

Check out the Oasys if you want the easiest & best! From what I hear, it's like using windows on a computer.. But it's not for the poor! (And I'm far from poor).

Have you played with both the M3 & M50?

The M50 is suppose to be an "Entry level" keyboard. But man, if this is "entry level", whatever! It's a strong unit! I like it a lot! The only things I wish it had, more outs (SPDIF the main thing I'd like), and it would be kind of cool to have vocator ability,,, why,,, I have no idea at this time, which is why I went with the M50. Couldn't justify an extra $700 for the outputs alone,,, and things I "Might want" at some point..

Lates,

Mike

I was suppose to be playing with it ALL day today, but got sucked into business BS..
