Newbies!!! Yay!!! I'm so happy you want to delve into this. My first time, um, in OSAM I mean, was truly a breakthru for me. I learned how to do mastering and many other things, including copyrighting, selling cds, cd artwork, all from the excitement and challenges of having a great OSAM group to coach me along the way. And how here I am moderating them myself, who knew. It's a great help, esp to people who can benefit from shared expertise and enthusiasm.

Hi Guys.

Just so you know in advanced, it's very unlikely that I will be uploading full songs this time around. I'm trying to get myself work from my efforts this time around and I need the tracks to say somewhat unknown. The production behind them will be very different too as I will have to use Symphonic Libraries.

Expect demo's though Smile

In addition to that, does anyone have any objections to my wife Christine committing to the OSAM concept in order to place the commitment of 12 cover tunes on her back ?. She's been on stage most of her life and other than TV and Video's we never recorded a CD together, and now that she's a mum she would like to record a 12 track cover CD.

OSAM would be ideal for her as it would tie her into the commitment. I'll be creating all the backing tracks, and obviously she will be doing all the singing.

She's already been a member of the forum for a long time Smile

Regards.
Sharp.

12 covers, wow. Sounds excellent. I think as long as that is your goal all along, why the heck not. We just love participation and sharing projects. Bring it on!!

This; http://createdigitalmusic.com/2006/09/01/reaper-lightweight-music-software-hits-1x-and-no-longer-free/
Is no longer free, but $40 bucks makes it a real bargain, and it gets good reviews.
Good luck.

I'd like to be a part of this, but I just don't know if I'd have enough time every month to get a song done. But I'll definitely put this into consideration.

I'm sorta in a musical slump right now, so maybe this'll help (I think).

Pumpkin King: The only real requirement is that you must be willing to promise to yourself above all that you will submit at least a song idea in rough form, or an attempt at something each month or else it will not benefit you to join up. These deadlines will kick your butt into gear but only if you come into this resolved to plunge thru the 12 months and come up with 12 songs or song attempts by the deadlines. If you do want to pledge this, then this group is for you and we'll do everything to encourage you to succeed. So if you can't get every song "done" you can at least post a fragment or rough draft.
