Just got my M50 88 too.

Which is a good thing, as prices are going up here in the UK on new stock. Great value workstation - even at a higher price (and the competition are increasing prices too!)

Indeed, Ray! Very Happy Very Happy

Thank you all of you for your comments!!

After some hours of playing I must say that M50 is a great instrument for the money but... Crying or Very sad I must admit that my Triton extreme is far better than M50, unfortunately! It's the first time I am so confused! Confused Maybe it's because I'm a little tired today.
Also during a sequence recording I had a strange freezing!! Nothing worked!! I unplugged the USB cable and everything went OK.
I will test it during X-mas and if I won't be satisfied I will sell it new as it is!

Regards,
Dimitris

Dimitris,

Sorry to read about your troubles..I wish you luck in resolving your issues.
I think that when you iron out your issues, you may very well discover that you M50 is significantly better in certain aspects, than your Extreme.

I just recieved mine today,& 5 hours after it arrived at my door,I had taken a raw idea & make a complete song out of it-with all of the trimmings & all quite smoothly! Very Happy

After spending all day with my M50,I must say that the sequencer is indeed, much more of a joy to work with, since it has more effects, advanced editing features, many sound-shaping options & it's all laid out quite beautifully.
You may notice also, the the guitar programs-particularly the electric ones, are much more authentic and there is a better selection as well. Cool

The drum sets are spectacular,as they are considerable superior to alot of the drums sounds on the Extreme.

Cheers,

-Philo

I wish you are right, Philo!

It's very early to come to a conclusion.
I wish to find more time to play with my M50 this weekend!

Regards,
Dimitris

Hi, Jerry,

Nice to hearing from you after all this time since Triton Extreme days!!

Of course I upgraded to Version 1.10 before I use the sequencer but, it suddenly froze because it was linked to my PC! Note that my PC was just on. I wasn't running any program at all, just recording in M50 sequencer!

Best regards,
Dimitris

Stick with what works for you. I've heard the Tritons, sound ok, but seems kinda hard to learn to use for my likings. That's an older rig, isn't it? Seems like I can't even remember when I started seeing the Tritons. Maybe back into the late 90's even..

FYI: The M50 is really working out well for me and my applications. Just got the 1st two songs ready to go that I will play ONLY keys on (Katy Perry, Kissed a Girl & Hot&Cold). Everything so far I'm playing parts on my bass, then keys here and there in just over 10 songs. I really look forward to playing only keys on a few songs.

But for the short time you owned the M50, why you didn't send it back the your retailer is beyond me..
Hope you didn't lose to much $ after owning it for 20days...??

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your input.
All I can say is that Triton Extreme has an enormous sound pallette that covers every music taste.
In M50 I didn't find something really new to my needs and also I don't really use PC for my sequences so, it was to much to have it only for some good Programs and Combis!

As for retailer returning, this is not valid in my country, unfortunately!!

I sold it at the same price I bought it!!
I was lucky because there is not any M50 available in my country until February-March!! I bought the last one!!

Regards,
Dimitris

Interface, except nicer graphic, is almost identical to the M50 Wink

If I remember correctly, first Tritons came out in '98, but Extreme is of 2004/2005. I think they can say a lot still today (as every good sounding synth).
I really liked the sound of my TR two years ago... I kinda miss it Sad
