My Karma developed such a problem with non responsive buttons, that I had to retire it from gigging.
The TR took over nicely, with some long hours spent splitting the keyboard, creating new patches, and eventually making it the only synth I use when playing live.
Now...the TR is developing the same problems with the buttons not responding, as the Karma did.
I have the M3-61, which I want to use eventually, but now I'm not only forced to tackle all that splitting, and tweaking on a much more difficult synth to get around, but now I have two synths that have cranky buttons!
Brick wall
Anyone have this problem, and more importantly, a solution?
Eh?

From my experience with refurbishing synthesizers and maintaining my own gear, dust and oxidation on the contact surface under the 'click' trigger situated on the printboard, are usually to blame for non-responsive buttons like the ones on the Karma unit.. I have recently got a mint condition Karma, so, won't be opening it anytime soon hopefully.. but, if u're somewhat of a techy and enjoy abit of maintenance, it's relatively easy to fix by yourself.. A technical cleansing fluid made for electronics must be used.. anyhoo, if u don't feel comfortable with repairs like this, I guess u have to bring the unit in for service.. worst case scenario would include re-soldering in new triggers, but I still haven't had the need for that, even on old gear, so a proper cleaning should be more than adequate...

Good luck.

Stephen, sorry to hear about your issues. As you know I have the same boards as you and no problems yet. Do you cover them when not in use? I ask because manmade mentioned the dust issue.

Hope you can get both fixed up and use them for live play soon Cool

They're coverd when in the studio, but we play outdoors sometimes, and some out of the way dance halls, that don't abide by the non-smoking law here in Illinois, and I'm sure the smoke film is doing harm.
I found a local tech, who has done triton series repairs for years, and will fix her up for me.
Just gotta make the trip to his shop.
Thanks.
Regards,
