Ok, the thing is I want to assign the Effect 017: Analog record to a certain timbre in a combi. but when I route it to that timbre the effect still plays even when the timbre that I assigned it to is on 'mute' .. so that's the problem, I want the effect to sound only when I play timbre that I assigned it to.. If the timbre is on mute and everything is set up correctly, no sound will be going into the effect, and it will thus not sound either. I'd bet the problem is with your setup.

Did you use Analog Record as a master effect or insert effect? If you're only using it with one timbre, you probably want to use an insert effect. If you used it as a master effect, what you're probably seeing is that the dry signal from *other* timbres is being routed through the effect.

You must be missing something; an effect can't sound if no audio is sent to it. Keeping the timbre muted, the final sound is different when you turn the effect off and on again?

has anyone here atleast tried assigning that effect to a timbre in a combi? I suggest you try first for yourself, the effect is '017: Analog record' .. Itit adds a sort of a crackle sound in the background (like in old recordings) but the thing is I can always hear it even if the timbre is muted to witch the effect is assigned, I need it to be so the background noise (the effect) would only be heard when I turn that timbre on

whatever you're using to turn the timbre on, assign that to the effect mix too.

the effect can always be heard because it adds the noise all the time, it isn't really modifying the sound so much as adding to it.

you might also be able to route the keygate to the mix if you only want to hear it when you press a key.

i'm actually a TR user so can't help any further than that, but the effect is on the Triton series too.

Tomorrow I'll set that record sound to an insert effect to a timbra in a combi and let you know what I find out.

I have NOT used that effect in any chain on the M50. It could possibly be a glitch, but it seems doubtful.

Yes, years ago. Laughing Laughing

Go to "Effect 017: Analog record",
and at the bottom of the effect page, try the following examples.

Example 1
Wet/Dry: Dry
Source: Ribbon
Amt: +100
Touching the right side of the ribbon will cause the effect to become Dry (off).

Example 2
Wet/Dry: Wet
Source: Knob 1
Amt: -100
Turning the knob clockwise will lower the volume to the off position.

Example 3
Wet/Dry: Dry
Source: SW 1
Amt: +100
Press SW 1 to turn the effect on and off.

I'm using the Extreme, but you should get the same results on the M50.
