I am going back and forth between these 2 keyboards and not sure which would be the best in my situation. I do understand that these are different types of keyboards. I have played keyboard in the past (my last keyboard was a Yamaha DX7) but play guitar for our band now. I do play with our keyboardist's keyboard a little when I have the time.

However, the keyboard will be for my wife. We are most likely going to loose our keyboard player within the next year. I am talking about a worship band at our church. My wife has played piano years ago, but only knows the basics. She is our lead singer and does not play any other instrument. She plays keyboard some now when our regular keyboardist is not there. I am looking for a keyboard that would be simple to use in a live situation. I do like the "styles" in the PA500. That would add a lot to our sound. We would not use the drums live because we have a drummer for that. I also like the idea of an arpeggiator in the M50. That would allow her to play basic chords and let the keyboard add some depth.

For now, I am going to play the main parts with guitar and have her just play some simple underlying sounds. When she gets better, we will start playing more keyboard driven songs again.

I also want the ability to write and record some of our original songs. I will be doing that myself mostly. Both keyboards have sequencers and I can interface them with my computers. That is not an issue.

What you you think would be the best keyboard for our situation? Thanks for any advice.

(Right now, I am leaning toward the M50-73.)

An M50 is the best choice for your needs.

Dimitris
