Hey all, I've been getting a message when trying to import songs to the M50 that states "illegal SMF data". Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem?
Thanks,
Kevin |

What format are the files you're trying to import ? Songs from another workstation ? General MIDI files ?
I've found on the Korg workstations if you try to open/import any alien file it will give you that message and it really means "I don't know what the hell this file is"
Maybe you're trying to import a legitimate file type but the file got corrupted ?

Be advised that alien files are illegal. _________________ M3, Triton Classic, Radias, Motif XS, Alesis Ion |

Kfull77,
Ya, these guys are correct, you have a wrong file format. The first thing I did with my M50 was downloaded a bunch of .Midi files, loaded them into my M50, messed with changing the instruments, bla, bla, bla,,, and I learned a lot that way..
There are a lot (Probably MOST) of smart people on this board. They help when they can.
But if you want fast & good advice,,, read the manuals a little before posting questions that are simple to locate within the manuals (ya, the manuals contain a lot of pages, but they contain excellent information on everything IMO). And be sure to include enough info. so they/we can give you fast advice.
