I'm not gonna play a song in 3/4 with a meter of 4/4....does that make any sense?

What happened to the days of people helping people....

The manual for the M50 sucks and you know it.

1. Press REC.
2. Look at the screen.
3. Look for **/**.
4. Touch the screen either with your finger or a stylus
and change **/** to 3/4.
5. Press START.
6. Start playing!!
7. Press Stop.

Was that easy enough for you.
If not I can break it down even further.

Given that the *second* post in this thread had the answer and the original poster didn't respond to it in any way, even to ask for clarification, I don't think it's just the manual that is at fault here (if the manual is at fault at all).

Didn't say the manual was 'at fault' - but, come on, it doesn't explain things in the easiest way possible!...

JP, none of what I said was aimed at you, not to worry my man. Thanks!

I beg to differ. Some things take time to grasp, but some things are quite simple.

"6. Set the tempo and time signature.
• To set the tempo, you can turn the TEMPO knob or
press the TAP TEMPO switch at the desired
interval. Alternatively, you can select (Tempo) in
the P0–1: Play/REC– Program T01–08 page (or
similar page), and use the VALUE controllers to set
the tempo. Set Tempo Mode to Manual.
• Next you will set the time signature. In this
example, we’ll explain how to set the time
signature using the “Meter” field. Normally, you
specify the time signature before recording the first
track, and then begin recording.
a) Press the SEQUENCER REC/WRITE switch, and
set “Meter” to **/**.
b) Press **/** to highlight it, and use the VALUE
controllers to set the time signature.
c) Press the SEQUENCER START/STOP switch to
begin recording. When the pre-count has ended and
Locate reaches 001:01:000, press the SEQUENCER
START/STOP switch to stop recording. The time
signature you specified has now been recorded on
the Master track.
If you press the SEQUENCER START/STOP switch
during the pre-count, the time signature won’t be
recorded.
"

That was taken from the topic Creating songs (Sequencer mode), Midi Recording.
Page 56 of the O.M.

Sorry, but no one can say that the manual wasn't clear on this one.

I apologize.
I could have made my answer a little clearer.......

Press REC.
Highlight **/** and change it to 3/4.

But it's all good.
I wasn't trying to be a smart @#$, but
even though one may have to navigate through
the manuals, Korg does have some good steps, in there.
They're just too bulked together.
It's makes stuff hard to find.
