This isn't my normal style, so all suggestions are more than welcome.
This came to me suddenly this morning, so I spent about 4 hours putting it together, obviously not enough time to really do a quality production, but the idea is there.

Right now is a very busy time for me, so I had to strike quickly.

Hi Stephen...

Love the beginning with the pans...and the general feel is much of what I feel is a good rock/blue sound, and I like the ones with a sad overtone...., the best!!

LOVE the GUITAR.... !!!! as usual.... What a feel here for a fix, of some one thing that is important...; something lost, alone, like a blues feel for a woman...or a place that is missed...

It carries a kind of ambient feel, that's in the undercurrents of life and mystery....., the ones we maybe don't talk about much.... (Just felt to me.. Embarassed

so consider the source of these comments...)

The song is less finished ..'tis true... the balance needs finishing a bit... but in the short time???

Man..you are a true genius in this genre.... for sure!!! LOVE IT!

Well!...first of all I love that beat - it is really very cool...

And the atmosphere you create does make one ponder life's mysteries, as John also felt.....I like the way the guitar 'says' something and then there's a sense of crashing back into the groove...

..or something like that...!...

One thing I like about this, is I can hear how you could take your signature style and go at least a bit toward electronica. The use of a different rhythm carves out a new kind of niche for you to play on. There are a few "unquantized" spots it seems, and there are moments where some of the thickness in the sounds could be thinned out for variation, but you've got some good strong power chord effects here, the guitar is working very well, I would leave that alone. It's fun to hear you doing a song this way. You too are finding new ways of doing your thing while changing it up. Very cool.

Very nice. I love the piano runs, both the sound and where they are placed in the mix, then later they seem to be mimicked by a string run...or just sounds that way in the mix. Did you play this directly in, or sequence it, or use a loop?

Also, that's a nice graceful ending, not too big but not a fade out either. I usually dislike the fadeout (although my song this month has one) and you've found the right way to end your song.

Great job. Sounds like this is an example of just letting it happen, not overworking it!

Wow ... I love that "epic" vibe you got going in this track, quite remarkable for a handful of hours work. It's interesting to wonder how it might have gone if you had had more time and thrown a little more into the mix in terms of instrumentation. I suspect it might have overloaded it a little as what you did already was really nicely balanced to my ear.

I like this. Also my kind of 'homeground' in music. Too many people are afraid to create instrumental music these days.

It was really enjoyable, I could imagine hearing it from any number of my favorite prog-based rock bands...
all I can say is the guitar might benefit from some 'epic delay' Razz

The playing itself is very good and seems to have a lot of feeling in it, a bit gilmour-esq, although the guitar tone takes it away from that (gladly!).
