I just bought a Korg Karma (second hand) a few hours ago, and will have my first rehearsal with it in about 20 hours from now, so there's not much time left.... and I'm in fact used to using an old Roland...
Is there anyone out there who can explain to me in a simple way how:
1. I can make use of the sound banks? How does this exactly work?
2. I can make use of the Transpose (I want a transpose +2)?
3. I can connect a midicontroller to it? Is it just a matter of plugging in? I want to connect a Yamaha SHS-101 to it.
Any help is much appreciated, as there's quite some time pressure! Thanks a lot! |

Hi Bartjes
Congratulations on getting the Karma - you will never get rid of it once you get started.
With regard to your questions - I would strongly recommend that you download the quick start and Basic guide plus Steven Kay's Karma FAQ manual - you can find all of these at http://www.karma-lab.com
When you are first faced with the Karma it can be a bit daunting, so working through the guides will help you a lot and get you familiar with the Karma terminology.
If you cannot find answers, please get back to us.
(Transpose is in GLOBAL mode - there is no "transpose" button)
Cheers

The Karma CAN be a little overwhelming at first, but the more time you spent with it the more rewarding it will be. I'm currently helping a friend learn the basics behind this great machine, I should spend some more time on this forum and see if I can add to anything.
Hope your first rehearsal went smoothly! _________________ Current: Korg microSAMPLER, Moog Voyager, Moog Rogue, Roland TR-909, M-Audio Axiom 25, Microtrack 24/96, Logic Express, Pedals, Mics, Mixers...
