I ordered ram from 'forniersean' on ebay, a trusted triton ram seller.. and while all the chips worked fine, one of them has developed a weird corrosion on one side Sad
ugh i hate the process of doing online returns -_-

sorry.. just needed to vent

Sorry to hear that, but you should have no problem at all in dealing with that ebay seller.

That said, I wouldn’t be in any hurry to send the chip back at all if all your experiencing is corrosion. There's simply something on the chip that needs to be cleaned. Maybe its from you handling it in the fist place when putting it in or some other residue.

Personally I'd remove the chip and clean it's contacts with pure alcohol on the end of a cotton bud. If you don't have pure alcohol in the house, just use some Vodka.

I'd also review the need to clean the contacts on the Triton because even if you get a new chip, your Triton is already contaminated and will likely cause the same problem on the new chip.

Regards
Sharp.

Yeah apparently he is already sending me a replacement! i already tried cleaning it, it seems it was not just corrosion but also some funky looking stuff on the pins... i thin my triton may have been the culprit.

can you give me a little more info on how to clean the triton contacts?

thank you very much for the swift reply Smile
