Dear God, the bottom line is show a little patience for crying out loud. I guess I am slow, because I am taking this time to learn the stuff I already own. I mean, we are all adults here and I think hearing about stuff a few months in advance is pretty cool. So let's all use our patience hats and just wait for this beauty to show up. In the meantime, I am still figuring out the PC3X I have. Talk about a learning curve...

I am SOOOO Glad, there was an announcement ahead of time. I was about to blow a wad of cash on a high-end microphone. This allowed me to change gears as I feel I will get more use out of the KRONOS.

If they hadn't I would have had to wait to save up the cash again, which would have been about a year.

Well, there will always be announcements, but not always actual product shipped! (Vapourware, is a term that applies, I believe). However, when it comes to the major players, like Korg, delivery is pretty much assured.

And of course there will be something new from Roland and Yamaha in the future . . . and so the cycle goes.

Wouldn't it be funny (sad, I know) if all of us dumped our gear for the KRONOS then Korg decided to not manufacture it? The original OASYS was announced and never sold.

Think about THAT while you're selling your gear! Wink

However, wasn't it just announced, but no model existed, even prototype? There are apparently actual Kronos (what's the plural of Kronos?) keyboards being played and demonstrated, and YES, you ARE bad!

You mean THIS (nicknamed the blue bomber):

BTW, look at that freaking ribbon. I want that...

And you know that there were a couple made and they are probably sitting in some R&D guy's garage collecting dust!

I can't get over that ribbon. I would love to have that kind of control.

At the time,

my wife made business with the guys who then ran Korg Italy (the firm went bankrupt and was replaced by the current Korg Italian dealer).

They knew I played Korg instruments, and their boss one day called me and said: "stop it, don't buy any keyboard. hang on! wait till next year. Absolutely do nothing. Something huge is coming, it will wipe off everything you've ever heard. I can't go into details now [they are after me. I must hung up now. Here they come! Aaaaaghhhh!]".

It was early 90s methinks.

For some times I waited: I almost stopped playing, for fear of being obsolete Shocked Confused

Then I thought better Wink Cool ,

and after... maybe 15 minutes, I resumed playing and shopping for gear...

They became obsolete while I was having fun Rolling Eyes

I guess they need to build up excitement & hype. Hey as long as they don't keep missing shipdates like the PC3K8 we'll be good to go.

I'd actually rather that they miss the ship date, IF it means fewer or no bugs.

Kronos/Chronos is not a latin word, so "Kroni" makes no sense at all.
It's from Greek word "Chronos" and if we used it as a Greek word, plural would be "Kronoi". But since here we use it not as a Greek word, but as English proper noun (we speak English here, not Greek, right?), the correct plural is "Kronoses".
