Hi Everyone, it so nice to back here again, I have missed the camaraderie in here.

I have posted part of a new song on my myspace page, it's called; 'Wobble Board'. Please have a listen and see what you think. Any comments will be appreciated, I have to finish it yet, like adding a bassline and a few bits and pieces, not sure what yet, but hopefully something good!

Here's the link; www.myspace.com/joethompson63

Cheers

joe

Sorry, I just caught your post here.

As it is, it kind of works as video game music, it's hard to comment as this seems to be a fragment, so many directions you can take this. What's here sounds good, I'm curious to what you will end up with, using this as your inspiration. I would definately interrupt the rhythm with some nice breaks or changeups. Let us know if you post another version.

Hi George, Yeah you're right it does sound like vidoe game music hehehe, it also needs some kind of direction, maybe a middle eight or just like you say a chord change or something like that. Thanks for listening George and I will repost an updated version soon.

A good start. Since the song is repetitive, I would definitely agree with variation in the rhythm, as george said. Like varying the rhythm for every few measures that seem appropriate. So since it's not finished, keep experimenting and post an update.

Hi Joe,

Yes now is the time to really put in a strong contrasting melody; it will bring the sound to a more exciting feel and lend new interest. The song as you have presented IS repetitive and needs that contrasting melody, and some rhythmic additions.

It has a very nice sound overall however; just needs some real contrast ..what they often call "hooks" in the prof use....

I would like to see a contrasting second, or middle section to bring a change in overall feel... Try it sometime ..It could be much better with a simple ABA song form...

I also agree with George and Pumkin on the rhythmic elements. A song using a fairly straight sound of electronics really!! needs that heavier drum/rhythm line in there.

Nice Joe and we will look for more soon!

Good Sound.. Nice start..! Now..Dress it up a little!

My Regards John, Johnny, ellll Very Happy Rolling Eyes Arrow

Hi John, I do agree it is repetitive, I haven't got back to it due to work commitments, hopefully soon. I will take on board what you, George and Joe have said and will try to beef it up some hehehe, maybe add some guitar and bass.

Thanks for your input John, Joe and George, very much appreciated.

Hi Joe,

its a good starting point. You could phase this loop in by starting with the bass, then adding the drum groove and that mono synth line. Then take the drum groove to another level and begin your melody. This could be interesting.

Hi Sewa & Ron, Thanks for your comments.

I'm going to put a bass guitar line in at some point, as well as experimenting with the ideas I've been given and I will try to create a decent melody line.

Ron, I have been told I have a heavy bottom end hehehe
