Having trouble updating the OS to 1.2 from 1.0, haven't been able to load OS 1.1 either.

Following these steps provided by Korg:

1. Before loading the new operating system, please connect your SV-1 to a personal computer
via a standard USB cable.
2. If it is not turned off, turn your SV-1 off.
3. While keeping the FAVORITE 1 and FAVORITE 8 buttons pressed, turn the SV-1 on. Keep
the two buttons pressed, until the FAVORITE buttons 1 and 2 will light up.
4. Press the FAVORITE 1 button, and it will start flashing. After a delay (30 seconds or more),
the “KORG USER” drive unit should appear on the desktop of your computer. This is the
area of the internal memory reserved to system updates inside your SV-1.
5. Copy the “sv1.pkg” file (that you downloaded from one of our web sites) into the “KORG
USER” drive unit (i.e., into the SV-1).

I don't get a "KORG USER" drive unit, only Drive E:

Windows tells me I need to format the disk in drive E: (the SV-1) before I can use it. My intuition tells me that this might not be a good idea.

I tried to drag and drop the pkg file into the drive, but it says there is an I/O error.

Not sure what step to take from here.
Anyone? Bueller?

Do you have the driver installed on your computer. I had problems installing it with Korg's instructions. Check out the post I made about it.

Thanks for the response. Pretty sure I have the latest driver installed, I had to monkey with it to get it to work. I do have full functionality with the SV-1 editor

Use Ubuntu or an older Microsoft OS.
