|
|
I started up iElectribe today, wanting to try out the new WIST features
(wireless midi synch between iPads! Great)
Then saw a teaser screen :
"want to tweak some real analog synths?" or something like that.
Visit KORGs .jp website on the 6th
It was a close up photo of control knobs, on a black device...
Now we know what that is! sounds like a must get. _________________ Now Rocking ELECTRIBE 2 !

I don't know why everyone's NOT abuzz about this! HELLO! This is what you people have been whining and begging for! This hasn't gotten nearly as much attention as I thought it would. I've seen people get more excited over crappy Behringer products.
This is potentially Korg giving us a freaking honest-to-god ANALOG SYNTHESIZER. Have you people NOT been constantly saying things like "BRING BACK THE MS20" or "They should put VCFs in it, but they probably won't" etc.
I for one am extremely excited, this is more interesting than the Kronos (imho) and that had over 60 pages of speculation BEFORE hardly any info. This is what a lot of you hoped the Kronos was!
The reason this is more interesting than the Kronos is because the Kronos was completely predictable! Anyone could have predicted another workstation, or stripped down OASYS.
THIS is completely out of left field and in the best possible way!
I just want to say: THANK YOU KORG! You really have been listening!
Come on people! Don't you want a new professional analog synth from Korg?

Its certainly causing alot of talk on other forums.
I posted a petition to Korg at Gearslutz some time back. Hopefully things like that made them take note

Yes, good point. As you can guess from my videos, the MonoTribe will hopefully be my dream come true! because it is:
1. A New Electribe! Enough said. Great playability,
straight forward user interface (no "menu disease" blocking the options)
2. An (affordable?) Analog Synth with MIDI, with that KORG flavor!
I'm not much of a keyboard player, so Kronos is just another workstation with a lot of voices that I can't afford? _________________ Now Rocking ELECTRIBE 2 !

I'm excited but I've not posted about it as I'm too busy playing with Gmail Motion and getting my mpc1000 pads replaced and other great announcements made last Friday! |

My bets are on some kind of fully analog (in the sound generation signal path anyway, as is the modern way) 'reissue' of the EA-1. Based upon that anyway. I personally can't see the advantage of a fully analog drum/rhythm machine in itself. but as a sequenced synth/bass line sequencer, that would be fantastic.
Yeah, I'm excited. Also perplexed as to the lack of responses to this thread so far. _________________ Current Gear: Kronos 61, RADIAS-R, Volca Bass, ESX-1, microKorg, MS2000B, R3, Kaossilator Pro +, MiniKP, AX3000B, nanoKontrol, nanoPad MK II,

One thing I've found since joining Korg forums is, theres very little mention of vintage Korg analogue gear, it seems to be all about newer products. (see sections, theres no Tridents/MS/PS etc catagories???).
So maybe thats why? |
