|
|
Perhaps this is a newbie question but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I recently acquired a Triton Rack and I picked up the orchestral expansion. I loaded the PCG programs and combis to the EXB bank. Only problem is that the combi is still pointing to the INT bank so all of the combi patches are wrong.
Is there a way to remap this without doing them one at a time and did I miss something when I loaded everything to the external bank?
Thanks |

C -
I believe that if you look at the disk PCG's they reference C or D bank as a recommended loading slot for programs and combis. Those were duplicate banks on the Classic, and so could be overwritten without much impact. And, unfortunately, that's where they need to be loaded using factory disks that come with the Orch EXBs - you can move them to EXB banks, but they don't auto-correct for where you load them.
I don't know of a quick and dirty solution for changing the load location of EXB programs and their associated combis other than a manual rewrite -- a task that might go quicker with a good editor/librarian.
[Manual Reorder: Save current load-in and overwrite to C+/orD banks and you can document voice orders and what programs are associated with each combi]
----------------------
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the Rack's bank architecture is identical to the Studio -- there were some fully loaded Studios in stores when they were originally released that had all of the then-available EXB's; if you can find a copy of that mega-PCG, and if your EXB's are in the correct slots, you might be able to hear them as intended in banks other than C/D.

Actually right before I called it a night I found the answer. For anyone else that has this same issue...
From the top level disk highligh Bank C and select load. Highligh the "All" and change it to Load I-C to E-C (or wherever) and that remaps the combis. Repeat for the second bank. What I didn't realize until I found it was that you could change All and I had originally done that an overwritten bank C the first time.
After going completely nuts on this I found that in the deep bowels of the internet and it worked like a charm. |
