hi,

I know I've been neglecting my duties for a while but hopefully things will be back on track now. I've had a long holiday which included great two weeks on U.S. country roads. I took a lot of pictures but did not do much composing during that time. It was fun, but its the daily routine which is your 'meat and potatoes' isn't it...

Well, back home I noticed I was kind of afraid to power my synths probably thinking that my fingers have lost it and I'd have to start over... better part of my time went also into a web-based project which is now under development. It is about music for commercial purposes which me and a friend of mine will be offering. The site is almost finished and you can have a look at it here: www.st-udio.eu Any feedback at this stage would be much appreciated.


Well that's enough ranting I guess. Meanwhile my studio is up and running and I'm trying a bunch of new soft-synths including imposcar2 and Arturia's Spark. My october tune is called 'the return' and it uses few soft synths (imposcar 2 does the arpeggio) a Virus C and Radias (the arp at the end). Ultrabeat and Spark take care of the drum section. You can download / listen to it here http://www.sewa-music.com/Site/music.html

Starts out with some good drama/suspense. Very clear, which is your signature style. I do like the short notes with the delay on the lead. That's a nice way to use delay with a lead and keep it under control. The pads in back are very lush. I do like this. I would be interested to hear something more in the drums maybe. Very balanced and easy on the ears. If you wanted to further develop this you could create a bridge section that totally changes up and then return. But it's effective this way too as it's somewhat hypnotic and smooth.

Man this sounds really nice. I love the atmosphere. Great sounds and leads. Soft and smooth.

I have some suggestions though. At least for me, I don't understand why the bass melody is panned to the right in the beginning. It probably isn't a big deal if I were to listen on speakers rather than headphones, but I dunno. I think you could either keep the little rhythm going on the right side, while the same rhythm kinda echoes on the left at the end of the measure. Just for some balance. Or maybe if it were just panned to the left, since I can tell that the delay effects pan to the right for your leads.

And I think it'd be cool if you then finished the song with that same rhythm going for the last few measures, just for a sense of the song coming full circle...to a nice conclusion. That's just a style I use a lot on my songs.

Sounds great though! I love the songs you come up with.
