Has anyone come up with a decent program for a ride cymbal? Head or rim would be fine.

Aha, that sounds like a challenge.
I'll have to try it tonight.

Remember, you can turn down the algorithm and use the pcm sounds by themselves.

Yes Please
I would like to see it on the rim with one of the snare (eg prog 2) programs to give basic snare/cymbal combo.

I currently use a wavedrum mini with the pad on 17 with the treble pushed up to get close and the clip on 14 for bass and mix these with the wavedrum snare.

Close but a good cymbal would help.
Almost resorted to buying a seperate cymbal to fix.

cheers

Ha I did buy a set of cymbal to go with Kronos almost a year ago. Works great for me but I still need to add a kick.

I saw this video - but was really going for a ride cymbal sound. I tried to modify the China/Splash (#44) program but didn't have much luck.

I think that is going to be very difficult to achieve, primarily because there aren't any isolated ride cymbal sounds in the PCM list, and the algorithms are not designed to create that type of sound.

As is being discussed the "Wavedrumset" thread...
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=66455
cymbal sounds are incredibly complex, with a wide array of overtones and nuances, and are very difficult to reproduce in the way that other percussion instruments can be.
