My floppy drive on my i4S has died

1. I can't source a replacement drive, the keyboard is in excellent condition and I don't want to throw it away...any ideas?

2.Has anyone got a working sysex file of the original Korg i4S settings and could explain how I would dump that to the Korg via MIDI **OR** does anyone know of a program I could use to convert the original Korg files on floppy to a sysex file and explain how I would transfer to the Korg

Have looked at Floppy to USB emulators but don't think they would work, wrong number of pins

ANy help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Tornado

Have you been able to sort your floppy drive problem.

Where are you ?, England, Germany

I replaced the floppy in my I30, I tried an ordinary floppy but it didnt work. I contacted a repairer who was able to put in another floppy and it worked. He said some floppies work and some dont.

The person I use is in England, if you want further info please come back to me.

Purchased the floppy drive belts from www.bustedgear.com , followed the instructions, dismantled keyboard underside, removed and dismantled floppy drive, no soldering required, removed stretched floppy disk drive belt and replaced with new and Hey Presto !!...a working Korg i4S with fully working disk drive !! Saved a lot of money by trying this and finding success !
Have now sorted two!!

I have a keyboard KORG i4S and I broke the floppy disk. I bought on e-bay emulator Gotek SFR1M44-TU100K I can not make it work.
The Korg i4S emulator connects via a 26-pin flat cable and I bought the adapter 34-to-26 pin.
Still not working. when I give the command load or save the display read "can not read disk"
despite having partitioned the key with virtual floppy from 720kb I do not know what to do anymore.
I need you to tell me if you have a suitable emulator for Korg i4S connector with 26 pins and
I guarantee you that if I install it in the keyboard functions and I do not create problems.
Probably the Korg does not recognize the emulator 1.44 (SFR1M44-TU100K), but recognizes only one to 720. I'm not very experienced so I ask your help to solve the problem.
Hello and thanks. Massimo

ps: sorry for bad english:-)

The issue may be the fact that you needed an adapter.
I have installed 2 of these units with no problems.

Did you format the USB drive using the included software - this is critical.

Cheers
