What is the best software for constructing instruments for the PA3X out of WAV files? I know I can do it through the PA3X itself, but it is very tedious.

You are talking about creating Sampled instruments yes? then really the only way I know is to use Awave Studio, as you can save the instruments into Korg KMP format ready to be imported into the 3X.

Which means 2 times converting your sample... from wav to KMP and then in the PA3X from KMP to the native PA3X format, which means loosing 2 times a bit of quallity.
