Can I use the WD with a Boss Loop Station?

These pedals seem made for guitars, electic violins , etc would the output level of the WD be OK?

Thanks

It will be fine. I encourage use of all looping pedals. Wink

Cheers, will start the hunt for a used RC20XL... I hope to post my percussive atrocities at some point.

Yes, I use the RC20XL and really love it.

The feature I use a lot is:
>adding a counter melody to a saved loop (rhythm/bass).
>play lead over that for a while, then holding down the left pedal will erase the last recorded loop.
>Then I can add another counter melody again to freshen it up and play to that.

Layering can be as complex or simple as you want it to be.

[edit]
I should add that the hardest thing about looping is getting the layers to be relative in volume. I'm tempted to add a compressor/limiter to the input to minimize volume problems.

Hi there,

I just got rid of a BOSS RC-3 cuz there was a slight delay when switching from loop to loop.
I understand that a few (if not all) BOSS loopers have this "attribute". Makes them useless to me......
Just a heads up to any shoppers.

So...... I picked up a Digitech Jamman Delay. Love it.
There is a feature that I think is unique in the looper world that is beyond cool:
If your loop is less than 16 seconds long you can sync up the delay and have it be 16 seconds long as well.
(if your loop is longer than 16 seconds it will split the delay time in half, quarter, etc. and still play in sync with yer loop)

Soooooo...... you have your loop playing continuously without fading out and then your 16 second delay that is fading.

Endlessly shifting rhythms!!

I been Hypnotized!!

All those darn loopers have a learning curve. I have an rc2 it takes awhile to get the hang of it. I never use it anymore. I would just as soon record to a daw and play it back. Or use my mxr carbon copy delay.

I still have, and use, two rack-mount versions of the Original Lexicon Jamman units from probably 15 years ago. Not a long delay/loop time, but they work great and have some cool features.

I'm using the Boss RC-300. My problem is that it takes so long to get all three input sources set up so that they're relatively equal in volume. Since there's only one set of stereo outs, all inputs have to be "mixed" on the loopstation since you don't get a chance to mix them seperately in a DAW. I'm not sure if this is related to your posting about the layers, but I have a feeling it may be.

A stereo volume pedal is a pretty essential Wavedrum accessory. I like the Boss FV-50L

yeah a volume pedal is very useful , also in effect loops

here is a "DAW handsfree wireless solution" :

computer with cubase (or similar) in loop recording mode...

hardwired cable out of a wireless USB keyboard
down to a nonlatch 4 switch box
functions:
start - rec - stop - next track
mouse next to it

easy , cheap modification
very comfortable

Hi there,

Yeah, the Original Lexicon Jamman blew some minds!

Re: the learning curve and other issues like matching volumes, etc with loopers: IMHO it's way worth the time to get up and running on yer looper!

It's almost like a new instrument; you have to practice with it to develop the skills.

Yes you can... you can use the LoopStation for just about anything! Here's one that is mostly Korg Kronos but also has the WaveDrum looped in it too:

I was recently part of a video shoot for a new looper pedal. I used both the Wavedrum and some acoustic percussion. I'll post links as soon as it goes live. Probably not for a couple more months though.
