Well, we've been trying to do that here for some time. Hasn't really caught on though. Rolling Eyes

Do you mean video or audio examples of original sounds or the actual presets and parameters themselves? We've got a couple of threads with original presets if that's what you're looking for.

Do you have any of your own you'd like to share?

If not here , where else ??

10 people with 3 sounds each would be 1/3 of a new soundbank ,
and a lot of possible constructive discussion
about editing and improving the sounds...

only I am afraid , that nearly nobody is into editing so much (???) ,
(no comments on the "editing sticky")

or everybody is soo happy with the presets ,
or is too shy to publish ,
or wants to keep his sounds as a secret ,
or is waiting for somebody else ,
or for tomorrow ... Wink
or ???

this is meant a little bit provocative , prove me wrong . Laughing
dear reader , what do you think (its not somebody else , its you...) Wink

well my wave drum is on the way, and I did see those other two threads...but I am very interested in synthesis, so I will definitely be trying to make some cool sounds...

So, I guess we can keep it up on here! I'll see what happens when I get it, and I have already read your threads on tips for editing...the only real resource I have found so far haha!

I am very interested in making some middle eastern sounds similar to the wave rum oriental patches...I wonder if there is a list of all the algorithm settings for all of the pre-made sounds anywhere? That would be killer! then you could dial up all the new sounds from the oriental...

and another thing is i see every video seems to use the same fwe sounds, and i definitely do not want to sound like every other musician out there, so new sounds are always key!

Korg WaveDrum Parameters

Arabic Doumbek by KELFAR TECHNOLOGIES

Designed by Kelfar Technologies (http://www.kelfar.net)
Sound Designer: Karim El-Far
Copyright © 20011 Kelfar Technologies

Reference: Korg WaveDrum (Owner's Manual and Easy Start Guide) “korg.com”

There are two main editing areas, EDIT 1 and EDIT 2.

• Hold down the BANK/MODE button, and press button 2. The display will show “Ed1” for a second, before showing “tun.”

• Now, buttons 1-4 will allow you to set which part of the program you want to tune. Follow this table for the functions you need:
Press this button: Display reads: This means:
1 hd.A Tune the algorithm on the Wavedrum’s head. [090]

Press the BANK/MODE button a few more times, and you’ll cycle through all these pages:

• dcy: 10
• LEV: 100
• Pan: 00
• ALG: 34 Djembe (Double-size)
• V.Cr:
• P.Cr: 000
• P.Tn:
• P.dc:
• rEb: 001
• dLY: 000

• Hold down the BANK/MODE button, and press button 3 to edit the Double-size alg.
The display will show “Ed2” for a second, and then show “tYP.”

As you press the BANK/MODE button a few more times, you’ll cycle through these pages:
• Eq- Pre EQ. This lets you specify whether you’re using hands or sticks to play the head or the rim, with five different combinations.

Double-size algorithms

34 Djembe,

These algorithms are appropriate for percussion in which
a single instrument produces two sounds, such as a
cajon.
hd1: Switching [50]
This parameter specifies the mix between the two PCM
instruments that are switched according to the tone or
position of your strike. With a setting of 100, the two are
completely separated.
hd2: PCM Balance [14]
This parameter specifies the volume balance between the
two PCM instruments. With a setting of 0, they will have
the same volume. Negative (-) settings make PCM1
louder, and positive (+) settings make PCM2 louder.
hd3: Alg-PCM Balance [-45]
Adjust the volume balance between the algorithm and
the PCM instrument. With a setting of 0, they will have
the same volume. Negative (-) settings make the algorithm
louder, and positive (+) settings make the PCM
louder.
hd4: Curve [033]
This parameter adjusts the response of the shell to your
strike, and the resonance of the shell.
hd5: Brightness [95]
Increasing this value will increase the high-frequency
components of the shell sound and the snare sound.
hd6: Snappy Decay [100]
This parameter adjusts the decay time of the sound of the
snare.
hd7: Snappy Level [000]
This parameter adjusts the level of the sound of the
snare.
hd8: Shell Type [002]
Choose one of five types of tonal character for the shell.

Save your creation
Once you’ve customized a program, you’ll want to save it! Here’s how:
• While in either EDIT 1 or EDIT 2 mode, press the WRITE button.
• Turn the VALUE knob to select a program number (you can’t save the preset locations, P00-P99)
• Press the WRITE button again.

GOOD LUCK!

THAT IS GREAT, the work you have put into this forum is really a huge help...I will definitely try the doumbek setting, as that is what i really want...did you design that sound, or is it already in there, because i didn't see it in the manual?

now here is my question: is there a file somewhere that shows every setting for all of the pre-made sounds?

or is there any sort of template or sheet where we can all enter parameter for the sounds we want to share?

I got your blanks sheet of PCM's with the blank boxes, but I was wondering if there is like an excel file with a nice grid for every parameter or something? if not, maybe we can work together and make one?

Hi,
I made some useful documents for the wavedrum (silver).
I compressed the data of the manual and made some spreadsheets with the relevant parameters, abbreviations,... as a quick reference:

Download Link:
http://www.mediafire.com/?vtquof54w38yogq

algorithm_parameter
is a sheet with all hd/rm1-8 parameter for all algorithms on one page

PCMs_and_Algorithms
all the PCMs and algorithms on one page

user_pattern_empty_spreadsheet
is an empty sheet for the 99 user slots (so that one doesn't accidentally override home-grown drums).

Algorithm_spreadsheet
is a sheet to write down all parameters of a drumsound (12 drums per page)
(please fill it up with your awesome drumsounds and share with us)

Important_ parameters
is a list with the meaning of the cryptic abbreviated edit1/2 and Global settings

P.s.
I just finished pimping my wavedrum with an external SD Card Slot using this extension cable (for 12 Euro):
http://www.ebay.de/itm/UNIVERSAL-Micro-SD-Card-Extension-Cable-Film-/200699235286?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2eba9b4bd6

The microSD side didn't fit at first – It is a bit too stiff and too long – so I had to loosen the screws of the circuit board.
Now I have an external SD Card to backup and swap loops – thanks to this community (especially freestok and WaterDrum) !

Have a nice day!

positive action , wow , much appreciated... Cool Cool

@wavedrummer , kelfar:
one more time thanks for your sounds , Very Happy
in 2 1/2 years 3 sounds , thats really not the most...
I so much hope its getting better with sound from everybody...
exchanging sounds cannot be a one way road...

@ hinsel
thanxx a lot
probably you could really get a good overview
of the WD editing structure...
its you , who learnt most from your work

I am thinkinking about to publish
the (new) version 2.01 of my soundbank editor.
Still (and will always be) in *.XLS = EXCEL format
(OFFICE Program for copy/paste is needed , Reader prog for reading only)

still able to copy and paste "soundlines" to wherever you want.
(from one bank / and one file to another)

150 sounds with ALG , PCM and volume information.
...as a little bonus for all compatible users I added
all full info double ALGo sounds from the Oriental ,

plus
10 full-info original Oriental sounds in a second small soundbank .

These sounds are built up from "Silver ALGos" and "Oriental PCMs".

You can substitute the Oriental PCMS with Silver PCMs
and make something different from these sounds.

somebody interested at all ??
no reactions , nobody interested , no release ...

Hello all,

I'm new here Very Happy

Got a silver Wavedrum a few weeks ago and finally found this forum. Spent the last few days wading through old postings Rolling Eyes

To gain better overview over the factory presets, I made a little spreadsheet that contains the Algorithm and PCM names, along with their numbers for each factory preset. It also contains a list of the algorithms with their eight hand/rim parameters listed. The list of factory presets can also be extended for user presets, when an algo number is entered its name should appear automatically.
Maybe this is useful for someone here, so I thought I'd share:

http://www.mediafire.com/view/?f7phhlqu4jdlmp7

(I created this with OO calc but saved it in XLS format). For those who are not into spreadsheets, here are pdfs:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?7rgc9u2dbb9hj07
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?amp4mcejnsytjtr

I'm under the impression that Waterdrum has done similar work, but downloading these files requires a premium account Sad or cannot be accessed at all (I created my files before I discovered this forum anyway). Same thing for many of freestok's files (thread "I gather all my research here"). Waterdrum and freestok, I'm very interested in modding my Wavedrum, so I'd love to see your work. Can you upload the files to some accessible place again?
