Nice improvements, beautiful response after self-calibration... plus true convo verb, improved FX all around, even the rhodes and wurlie ad-ons step up.

Decent $40 CDN upgrade. Evil Dragon, kudos to you as a beta man. You were right on the money, well worth the wait - truly a joy to play, and recordings breathe like nothing else out there

It does sound good! I hope physical modelling is the future of these type of plug ins. I hate huge sample libraries.

What I love most about PT4 is the physical connection I feel when playing. It's just right for me. I dusted off my old Bach chops last night and it's incredible how clearly I can voice each part of the WTK Prelude and Fugues that I remember playing as a kid. I was up all night playing with various D pianos (each is virtually "mic'd" and optimised differently), and the convolution reverb presets are easily edited to put me in the space I want to be in.

There have been many mixed opinions on the Pianoteq forums in regard to the "realism" of the new D pianos. Huge sample libraries give a nice audio snapshot of real pianos in real spaces, and certainly have their place in specific applications. However, I have always appreciated the connection that Pianoteq has given me to my music, and PT4 takes this to a completely new level. This connection is the realism that strikes me most.

Is it the ultimate piano simulation? I don't think we are there yet in any software format, but the bar has been raised once again. Love it!!!
