Can somebody tell me why manufactures do not allow audio compression such as mp3 inside the boards? I know it takes an audio codec but couldn't they easily implement something like the Lame audio codec for mp3s so we could use more samples and less memory? MP3s are not decoded like a movie when loaded or played so there wouldn't be any or much overhead. You now see MP3 capability in car stereos so I know it can be done. Just a thought....

Just another thought why not ogg files, they can sound really good have a great compression...

"tradition"

Tradition says mp3 does not sound as good as wave. Even though mp3 is being used to listen to your favorite albums. You will never see a professional producer using them as a sound source to create music. I am sure korg wants these professionals to buy korg workstations. Could they add the mp3 compatibility? Sure I don't see why not.
