As far as I know, there is no erase/delete option for individual programs and combi's in the current Kronos OS.

With the PCGtools software, you can do this and after modyfing the PCG file, upload it again in the Kronos.

What I typically do for individual files, is overwriting the specific Program/Combi with an empty one.

See my post HERE

I've uploaded an empty PCG file that will allow you to wipe a sound, a bank, or your entire memory.

Regards
Sharp.

If it included KSC files you might want to eliminate them and their associated directories a well. As always, backup your data first- just incase!

Sounds like three possible things here:

If you have a KSC that's loading every time and you want to stop this, goto:
GLOBAL==>KSC AUTOLOAD and make sure it's NOT clicked on RED in the AUTO-LOAD column.

If you then want to also delete it from disk, Go to DISK==>UTILITY and use DELETE from the drop-down menu (top-right).

If you want to get rid of the associated Program, find an INIT PROGRAM and write it to that slot.

Ok, I've got myself confused.

By all means tell me to RTFM as I haven't even glanced at it yet.

I loaded the vintage keys from the extra directory on the hard drive into UG.

I didn't save anything

When I powered off and back on later, I see that in UG, I still have my vintage keys files although the samples are missing.

A little confused as to why if I haven't saved anything they are still showing.

Not a problem, just wondered.

best

Joe

Anything you load in a bank is there to stay, unless you specifically delete it. The only exception is that the actual patch you're editing has to be written before switching to a different patch.

Hi Sharp,
I was thinking of purchasing a Kronos that has two banks with Karo libraries. If I use your program to remove entire banks, can I use it to remove single Programs or Combies?
Thanks frank

If there is a single empty program you can use it to "erase" any other program simply by resaving it to that location. Also, if you switch a program bank's type (EXi/HD1) in global, the entire bank is erased.

What I don't really get is why this is necessary. Programs and combis don't actually use any RAM and you can overwrite each and everyone of them. Why not just leave them there instead of a whole bunch of init programs?
