Hi all,

I may consider to buy krome workstation.
However I would like to know if the Krome embeds sounds editing capabilities? On my current keyboard I mixed differents patches etc.. to create new sounds. Do you know if there are similar possibilities on Krome?

Many thanks for your answers. Very Happy

The sound editing capabilities on the Krome are awesome, it's the main reason I bought one.

Hi Stephen

thank you for your reply.
So I understand you can create new sounds from start.. or you can modify existing ones

In the specification it is said User: 768 Program (640 Preload) So I presume there are 128 available slots to save the sounds modified or created.

In addition to the user slots you can save the entire bank to your sd card and save as many banks as you choose, the user slots are truly unlimited. This is the same on the M50 also which is what I am using to do this.

When you say on your current board you "mix patches", do you mean layering different sounds or programs?
You can do this with krome but you can also mix new samples together along with different effects ect. and come up with a gazillion different sounds.
You can layer old and new sounds in combi mode as well. I can not stress enough how unlimitd you are in the realm of sound sculptin with something like this.
Cool

What keyboard is it that you are using presently ??

Hi
I mean layering different sounds. and then modifying different setups related to each sounds (such as LFO, pitch , etc...)

I actually use a keyboard I bought 8 years ago from a different brand than korg... but whatever. I became over Time a little bit disappointed by the effects, sounds editing and arpeggiator possibilities (which are quite limited..)

So I am just looking for a Keybord with better sounds, sounds and arpeggiator editing possibilities , good effects, easy to use .

Krome Keyboard seems to have those qualities... I maybe just regret there is no Karma ..

Do yourself a favor. Get to korg.com and download the Krome editor. Then run it, and look around the endless possibilities to do whatever you want. It would even be a good practice to begin familiarizing with how Korg workstaions work before you get the keyboard in your hands.

I started creating my own sound patches on my KARMA, then on my TR, now, the Krome, and I'm very excited by the tools available, and as mentioned, the editor, for doing this.

Since the M50 has optional Karma software, there's no reason to think that eventually, they're won't be Karma for the Krome as well.

The Krome is new and currently,Stephen Kay is working on Karma software for the Yamaha MOX series,so be patient...as I am sure the Karma is coming in due time.

Here is what Stephen Kay has to say about Karma for Krome, I would not count on it happening anytime soon. Wink

"The keyboard will not ever have any internally. Korg has made that decision.

If you mean: do I plan to make "KARMA Krome software"? At this time, no - but if Korg wants to discuss that possibility for some reason, and perhaps offer some support for doing so...I might consider it... "

I agree,

I just meant

"As Krome seems to be a M50 replacement keyboard and as the M50 has its own karma software, this is a little bit disappointed it is not being developed for krome as well.."
