I would like to set one of the user defined programs as a djembe head and a shaker rim, anyone know how I could do this?

hi LMS3
I do not have a solution ,
maybe we can find something together .

do you have a Silver or an Oriental WD ?
how much are you into editing ?
what did you try already ?
do you have a favourite PCM sample for the shaker?(Rim PCM 53-57)
actually I think they are not that loud , compared to the head ...

shaker with PCM
my thoughts :
we cannot add a shaker to preset 15 (double algo)
hd 6 and hd 7 add a "snare"
is that kind of a shaker ?

start with preset 16
and make the volumes 3 and 4 to zero
does this still sound like a *good* djembe ?

now vol 1-3 = zero
vol 4 = 100
vel curve PCM rim (4) = 0 or = 5 or =6 ???
listen to the shaker PCMs

shaker with Algorithm :
No 18 is a Jingle , even with short decay ... it is not a shaker
(--> but its louder ...)
many times its not easy (if not impossible)
to exactly find the desired sound

more often editing is like
- "lets see where this ends"
and then enjoy what you get ... Wink

imo the WD is not really strong with PCMs and "natural instruments"
the feeling and the expressive playability comes from the algorithms

For a better overview (and more !)
you can find an offline editor with the data of all sounds here :(Oct.13)

Thanks, bought a used silver wave drum. Have not done much with it yet, the manual is not written for the novice, for instance if you go into Edit 1, but don't make any chnages, it doesn't tell you how to get out.

Seperate topic, your location says Bavaria, I am assuming Germany, and your English is excellent. I lived in Crailsheim (near Ansbach) for three years back in 1981 to 84.

I started with preset 16 and set volumes 3 and 4 to zero, still sounds like a "good" djembe. Your next line ssay bol. 1 - 3 = zero, is that still in preset 16?

still preset 16
volume 1-3 =0

seems there are quite a few used Silvers on the market ...

exit edit 1 = press bank +1 = no save
press write 2x = save

btw maybe create an "area" (eg User slot 51 - 60)
for editing and SAVING Wink

probably you already edited Preset 15 Djembe
try edit 2 .... hd6 and hd7 for the "snare"

and yes , thats the German Bavaria , the country where everybody wears Lederhosen and silly hats
and drinks beer from big glasses Laughing (...not)
