Hi there,

I have been asked to play in a little pop concert in my village with young guys. The problem is that the concert is on December 1 and it is outdoor, so the temperature can be like 5°C or also -5°C.

I would like to know if there is any risk to use the Korg equipment (In this case an Is35 keyboard) with low temperatures.

I know it is quite impossible also to play, but for this I will try to use gloves and I'm just curious to understand what I will be able to do. I've never played outdoor in winter but I've heard sometimes there are winter concerts. They are just asking background chords and easy melodies, surely will not be possible virtuous playing.

Many thanks to anyone that can reply to my post

I cannot imagine playing in those temperatures!!! Good luck!!
Yes, keyboards in extreme temperatures does propose a risk.
If you have any way of protecting the keyboard (i.e. from draft or wind) this may help.

If you are only playing backing chords, then you may be able to wrap the keyboard up a bit.
Alternatively use a cheap MIDI controller and leave the is35 well protected.
I would definitely keep as much of the keyboard covered as possible.

We have the opposite problem here with temps of 40C+
I refuse to play any of my gear in these temperatures (even my drums)

All the best
