Hi all,
I have decided to take the plunge and upgrade from my trusty PA1X which I have owned for nearly 10 years now!
I use the keyboard in a band and would like some advice on a few things:
I use the keyboard in a Turkish band and will be purchasing the TR11 MicroSD card from the official Turkish distributor for Korg.
http://korgpaturkiye.com/?p=171
1. Will the sounds and rythms auto load into the internal memory when I switch the keyboard on? I assume the PA900 has a user styles area and user sounds area that the styles and sounds would load to?
2. I have around 150 midi files on my PA1X....and these are on the optional hard disk that I had installed.
Where would these Midi files reside on the PA900 if it doesn't have a hard disk?
3. Can you mute the drum track in real time in style mode, I can do this at present via a slider on the PA1X but there are no sliders on the PA900, hence my question.
4. How different will the keys feel moving from a PA1X to a PA900?
5. How effective is the vocal removal from MP3 tool? I'm thinking of using that feature and slowly phase out my midi files.
I play instrumentals and I would play the vocal track with a solo part...
Really appreciate any responses.

Hi there,
I'm still finding my way on my PA900, but if I may contribute:
In answer to 3, I use the Track Select button to show the rhythm tracks that are currently playing. From this screen you can use the virtual sliders, or either Solo the drum track (via the drop-down menu at the top right corner of the screen), or just tap the small green 'P' (Play) rectangle, switching it from Play to Mute. In which the green 'P' would change to 'M'. (the red star highlighter is my own):

In answer to 1, I have loaded various Sets and sounds into my PA900, that load into the Korg disk (memory) area automatically when the keyboard is switched on.
In answer to 2, the hard disk of the PA900 (as I believe) is a virtual one, like RAM, I think similar to that on my desktop PC. Pardon my lack of specialist terms, but there's plenty of room.
In answer to 5, I have tried the MP3 vocals removal, and in my experience the PA900 vocal removal process is no better or worse than many others. Works very nicely only if the original vocal track is centred and was recorded with no effects at all, which I think is quite rare!
happy new PA900 |

Hi
I would advise you to wait till the Namm 2014 is over as they may launch the Pa900QT. Just my suggestion, I will be interested in that too
