Ouch, I expected it to have the full engine on board. Hopefully there will be at least some patch saving via software or whatever. Not even saving edits is dumb. |

Certainly not a serious midi controller without aftertouch. |
eh, yes and no, I was more referring to the triton model being about as good as the midi controller. Yes it's lacking aftertouch but its slathered in the things younger artists want which are the pad buttons, sliders, knobs, a kaoss pad. These things are for writing out quick melodies to probably edit within a DAW, to this market of users it will probably not be missed that much. Note that I've noticed you will be missing aftertouch and will refuse to buy one regardless, personally i feel you, but if i have some extra cash this summer, i might make the 25 key a vacation board.(tons of my sounds are on my computer these days) _________________ 2xds-10, ds10+, m01 |

Have problems to send controller messages.
I set e.g. knob 8 for controlling something but MIDI does not go out.
Standard playing, pitch bender, mod wheel all work.
I see that my knob is CC #64 but the MIDI message does not go out.
Midi is also set right. Everything in accordance w manual.
Is there something I am overseeing?
Maybe a simple trick?
Thanks for any help. |

OK, I'm about as NEWB to this stuff as can be imagined.
Have a recording rig built around Logic 8 / Macintosh / ECHO Audiofire12 / A bunch of mic preamps.
I have no keyboard to speak of whatsover. I'm used to a piano-feeling type keyboard, and organ stuff.
I can get new Korg stuff at a great price through work, and was wondering what a Tactile Triton series MIDI controller would mean for me, specifically:
- Does it come with some pretty good vintage keyboard/organ/piano sounds?
- Will DAW control functions work with Logic 8 (macintosh)? Would that mean using Kontrol Editor software?
- Drum pad stuff I'll get around to and use eventually, but I'm really interested in the quality of the vintage sounds and the DAW control. The feel of the keys, I hope I'd get used to.
Thanks in advance, and please go easy on me... total NEWB. |

+10000
but Korg thinks / works opposite of the logical way.
the great almighty sound desingers at korg worked so hard making those awesome sounds and than some idiots mis-decide where to put those sounds.
in the age wehre 99% of msuci production happens in the computer and SOUNDS ARE USED FROM SOFWTWARE, NOT EXTERNAL DEVICE!!! but korg does cpmpelety the opposite.
this is absurd. _________________ World needs Nikola Tesla’s technologies |

I so so nearly bought one of these a week ago but found that it has no MIDI-IN port - it was the reason that the guy selling it was getting rid of it!!
If you're OK with USB-midi then all is fine (I think)
Cheers

I think the MIDI-out would be OK.
Sorry - never owned one, only came close recently.

The main difference is that Taktile is a MIDI controller only, whilst the TRITON Taktile also contains what is essentially a Triton synth with some of the "signature" Triton sounds.

I find unmotorized knobs and faders are big unneeded load in music making. |
OK, I'll bite. What are the motorized knobs for on a controller that sends but does not receive? _________________ Fred
