|
|
Hello,
I've been experimenting sysex sending issues on my krome.
Krome seems to ignore my sysex when transmitted...
In fact, I cannot state if it's a software or hardware problem.
The software does not log any error, on mac OSX.
The hardware seems to work (in a midi monitor, I can see input and output traces...)...but no SYSEX send !
Did you experiment such problems?
Are the cheap usb to midi interface compatible with sysex messages?
Thank you,

Cyph -
Using Midi Monitor, I checked my Krome. A quick scan of the manual suggested that the 4 knobs, when used to control ARPs, send sysex , and MidiMonitor confirms this (apologies for formatting issues):
Code: | 19:09:11.259 From KEYBOARD SysEx Korg 18 bytes (00 F0 42 30 00 01 15 41 02 00 06 00 02 00 00 00 00 | B0 A |
10 05 F7 | |
My Krome is hooked up via usb, though, rather than via MIDI cables, so I can't speak to your specific issue. |

Hi Cyph.
I experienced the same problem and found this :
When receiving program sysex dump at Krome: It must to be set the same number of Global channel in Global mode as in the time when program been transmitted via sysex dump.
( Global/ Page-MIDI /Basic -Midi channel )
So by issues with receiving , maybe you can try to change all of the 16 global channels until you find the correct one.Don't forget to have marked checkbox "Enable Exclusive" in MIDI filter at Krome and memory protect off.
BTW. , i have 3 USB to MIDI interfaces and one of them is exactly the same one you posted a link. This interface is outside my home at the moment (no problem bring it back ), but i remember, there were issues with this interface by sending and receiving sysex dumps with some synthesizers , (with some keyboards works and with some not )
Cheers

Thank Jan,
All the settings on the krome were correct. I think that sysex messages are not well transmitted to the synths by this cheap interface.
I will buy a better one...I really need to explore sysex sending to my synth :
1) My Korg X3 floppy drive has just fried..."Drive not ready"
2) I need to make a factory restore on my Quadrasynth in order to sell it
3) I want to play a bit with sysex on my Krome (In fact, that's not a problem, I also have a USB cable to do that on the krome...)
