So after a year or so away from Korg (previously had an M3) and having finally retired my Fantom G7, I bought a Kronos 61 mk1. I always wait until the latest model comes out and then by the now cheaper older model.

The Fantom was a very good workstation, but I must say I never felt inspired by it, sound wise.

My new toy is on version 1.04. So should I dive in and upgrade to version 2 or 3.00 or use as is for the moment? Lots to explore on it and I'm enjoying it so far. Suggestions please as afirst time user! Smile

Upgrade to 3.02 and get used to all the new features now. You will love the Kronos excellent choice. I think it would be better to learn from scratch having all the new features as opposed to learning one way and getting used to the added effects. Just my 2 cents.

Hi tranztek.
As benny ray suggested, upgrade to 3.02
There are good, important improvements within 3.02
The KRONOS has inspired me more than any synth i have ever owned.
It will deliver endless inspiration.

Thanks guys - I will do that - is there anything that you loose in terms of patches that are in the earlier versions?

I strongly suggest you update the firmware as well,(there's only one).
This is to be found, further down, on the same download page on the os list.

Do follow the provided guides exactly !

By the way, welcome to the forum and being another proud owner of a Kronos......
