Yes, but Kronos is a machone built on conventional pc motherboard with trully Open OS.
PA series arrangers does not seem to folow the same concept...
Only KORG Italy R&D know and SHOULD let us know ASAP!!!!!!
And more than that, if they can implement this feature in an OS update, THEY MUST DO IT!!! |

Publication translated:
Pa4x comes with 5,1 GB memory filled with PCM-Data for 1800 sounds.
By streaming technology enormous amounts of data on-the-fly can thereby be processed.

400 MB are no enormous amounts, so this meant that PCM-data to be processed by streaming to save RAM - that seems nothing to be like an Open Sampling System in Kronos. |
400MB of RAM is a lot when streaming. I can fit on average 4GB of streaming data into 400MB of RAM on my KRONOS.
Also don't forget, the KRONOS never had the ability to stream end users samples when it was released. That feature was added much later in the form of an OS update.

But according to CONNECTORAS who had hands on experience there was no sample streaming from HD or SSD...
also in the tutorial video about the sounds, there was no information about streaming, where there was information about loading keyboard sets from USB and disk. where one would expect to see the streaming from device, there was no tab in the soundselection
its not yet in, and i kind of doubt the current hardware of pa4x will ever support it..
I think peoples best bet is adding a Roland BK7m, Varranger or Audya4 to a Kronos if they want have a really expandable soundlibrary |

Makes no difference. We know for a fact that the Pa4X streams it's factory PCM data. It states this very clearly on KORG Germanys website.
The only thing we don't know is if end user samples can be streamed also.

As mentioned above, we know for a fact it does have streaming. It streams all it's factory PCM data.
What we don't know is if it streams end users samples, and even if the answer is NO, does that mean never, or not yet.
Remember the KRONOS didn't stream end users samples either when it was released, but it does now.

We will all have to wait until KORG gives us the answer.
