My default browser is Chrome. Not much to see except the download arrow on my PC. The files appear to be locked but if I click on them, they open to all sorts of file names/extensions. I was able to load the electric gtr program, but the correct sample did not load with it so there was no sound to ...

Yes, thanks. I would be interested in finding out if someone else downloaded the files from this OASYS website, and see if they load as locked files or unlocked. The problem may be a setting on my O. Thanks for trying to figure this else. When everything else fails, there's always the manuals that ...

Unlocking Files
This is a pretty basic question, but I'm unable to find the answer in the manual(s). I recently downloaded the files for the O from this site. All are locked files, thus I haven't been able to even open them on the O. Is unlocking files a global function or disk function? Any feedback on this basic ...

Thanks for the info... are you saying one must go through the sampling inputs first to make it into a sample through the 1/4" sample line inputs, trim it to whatever yours needs are? Then, once the sample is trimmed, you then can re-sample with whatever effects you might want? Sorry, just double ...

Sampling and Re-Sampling on the OASYS
I've never been into doing much of my own sampling--it's hard enough to construct music from other sample libraries and make my own personal tweeks. I've been reading the Korg Parameters book and still am unclear about what they refer to regarding "resampling." Can anyone clarify the difference and ...

Karo Assault Library
I am interested in hearing more about this library. I mainly make ambient/space/drift music (with occasional beats). My only complaint regarding the OASYS (other than the learning curve) is that it deals mainly in "work horse" sounds. It also has some fantasic sounds I would consider using in my own ...

Just to folllow up, I attempted to load an AKAI formatted sample library, and it did load sounds so they could be played on C4 or thereabouts. It seems like there might be some necessary work to do in mapping it to say, C3. This is from a SoundScan library that came out in early 2000s. They were ...

Sound Libraries
I have quite a selection of sound libraries collected over the years. Many are Kurtzweil native, and others are Akai native. How does the O react to "foreign" sound libraries? With the Kurtzweil K2000R, I had to make a template for the Akai sounds and just keep copying new samples into it, since all ...

Sampling on the OASYS
I am currently involved in a poetry/music collaboation. I have the poet's words on a DAT tape with no other audio. How easy or difficult is it to drop in lines of poetry on any given key, so that it could be triggered on its own track, and recorded. I realize this is a complicated issue, but if ...

Saving Files
I have modified several of the factory/combi programs on my O, even if it's just marking them as favorites. When I go to save this file, which I have saved before as "Factory", I get a message that the file already exists. Okay, so far. When I try to save the modified factory file, there's no prompt ...

OASYS Legacy Series
This is a bank of sounds that Korg has included a demo of shipped from the factory--vintage synths. Some of these programs are really nice. Anyway, the demo fades out after about a second. I raised this issue awhile back, wondering where one could get the Legacy series. Someone responded the full ...

Yes, every one has their own system that hopefully works for them. Going back to the good ol' days of floppies, I also remember it didn't matter if I had cryptic titles on the disc--I could still write its full name on the labels provided with a pack of floppies. I had a T3 at the time, and, as a ...
