Had a flick through the manual and read the pages on recording 91 - 111 and cant find an answer.
Also I know that it only occurs when I have Multi REC on but that mode what I want to record.

Problems when transferring files to external drive.
Not a major problem I can work around it but I have found that unless I save the files on the external drive to begin with, they will not play on my PC once copied from the internal one.
