Tap your foot. Swing your body back and forth each beat. Or bob your head slightly, down up down up down up. If the piece is lively, emphasize the "up" like in ska or reggae to get that feel inside. Point is, using a metronome or drumbeat for an external reference, you should internalize the tempo ...

The talk of possibly getting 303 and other filters in the Kronos got me all excited. Until Dan brought the realism of the floating point and low-level issues... Ah, better to nip in the bud. The filters used by a VA makes a significant difference. The AL-1 programs in the Kronos do a good job far ...

Also, if I guess at what you're trying to do, you want to create an HD sound, like a piano, where pressing a pedal will not only keep the previous notes sustained, but also trigger a separate set of multisamples... correct? If you use the SWITCH method I mentioned above successfully, in this case ...

Antony, I'm not at my Kronos at the moment, but I think you should try to use a Switch , not the damper/sustain option. It's likely there's internal code to use the sustain pedal (MIDI CC#64) to trigger the SGX piano damper multisamples. I think MIDI CC#64 does not send note ON messages, only note ...

Re: Logically...
Logically what you have discovered would be a trade off for Korg adding more functions as they take a greater toll on the main processing chip. I have actually posted other threads concerning SST which certainly does not function with the same proficiency as it idid in OS2. One example of voice ...

I've noted quite a bit of voice stealing after installing OS3. Here's what I found to reduce it. These are all under GLOBAL/Basic/Basic. -- enable Auto Optimize RAM -- Internal Headroom set to STANDARD -- set Mute Mode to "LIVE" (not Studio) // then be sure to Mute unused tracks in your Combi/Seq ...

After watching a number of SLM videos by the author of the app, I'm truly impressed at how flexible, easy, and invaluable it can be for organizing live sound set ups. The iConnectMIDI4 looks very nice, but it's $200 and another piece of gear that I don't need to add to my rig. I'm trying to balance ...

I found another way to optimize for greater polyphony. I was still getting occasional note stealing or even notes not sounding on a combi using only one CX3 organ and a bass guitar made of 2 layered bass programs even only playing 4 notes at any given time! Under GLOBAL/Basic/Basic... set "Mute Mode ...

Should've watched the videos first then came back here with specific questions they didn't answer, lol. Question 3 above: yes, you can use an FCB1010 to control SLM. Check out 5:32 in this video, it shows how to set that up with a particular use case scenario: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8sYH ...

Thanks for the tips. Couple more questions before I delve into it all: 1a) It sounds like you'll be working with Sysex quite a bit. So that means finding out for each piece of gear you'd like to control what its specific Sysex values are, right? If I recall correctly, in a complex MIDI setup, each ...

The mastering limiter Sander suggested is an internal FX within the Kronos. You could also experiment with the compressors if it suits your music. From Combi/SEQ mode: Select MFX/TFX tab, then select Routing. The TFX1 or TFX2 will apply the effect you choose to your entire mix. Press ON, then press ...
